What a great host and property management. We had an issue when we arrived and once we called the host his people responded in about 20 minutes. The safari made this stay stand apart!! Wouldn’t think twice about staying here again!

WOW!!! What an amazing property and experience!! The cottage was very nice and situated on a hill with excellent views from both the pool and a second floor balcony. It was very clean and fully stocked with everything you would need. The property itself is amazing. We woke up to turkey strutting right outside our door along with huge oryx grazing right outside our window while an endangered zebra came walking up the road. On our hikes we saw herds of wildebeasts frolicking in a field, axis deer, fallow deer, watusi, eland, red stag, sable, rare blonde bison and several different types of gazelle. If you enjoy hiking or biking on a beautiful property and seeing animals from all over the world, incuding some very rare and endagned ones, this is the place for you. Ty, the host could not have been nicer and more gracious. He was wonderful and was kind enough to take us to meet Tank the rino and feed the giraffes, which was amazing!! Everything is first class and Ty's attention to detail shows through in every part of the ranch, including the grounds, the main lodge, a beutiful hilltop chapel and an incredible giraffe encounter area that is being built and will open soon. My company has taken clients hunting on several very nice ranches and this was by far the nicest I have seen. The 5-stand sporting clays and pistol range looks like it would be a blast. Also, Courtney cooked us a meal one night and the steak was one of the best I have ever had. Highly recommend!!!

Based on our experience of having stayed at several hundred usually higher-end VRBOs, this one ranks at the top 1 %. Most impressive is the caliber of the owner Ty , and his staff. They go above and beyond in helpfulness, technical expertise, and dedication. There are other safari ranches you could go to, but I doubt you would find a more professional one. One would conceivably go to an actual safari, but I doubt animals from different continents would be as well represented on the menu and seemingly treated as nicely. Our favorite is the Grevy's zebra, which is endangered. This is a gem. It would get harder to book once words get out. Maybe we should not mention that they are also fun and charismatic people, the various activities and tours provided are enjoyable and winsomely presented. We, including our son who is in his 20s, had a blast but in a blissful way.

Was the perfect place for our family. The grandkids loved the pool, hot tub and the tour. Feeding the Rhino and Giraffes are something we will not soon forget. Ty and his team are the best hosts. They left us with everything we needed to have smores with the family while we watched zebras and other wildlife walk by the cabin. Mountain bikes were provided where we could explore the 3,800 acre ranch at our leisure. Highly recommend staying here, and we will be back again!

Our stay at Artemis Ranch was absolutely exceptional. The views are stunning—wide open Texas landscapes that make it feel like a true escape the moment you arrive. The property is beautifully designed, incredibly clean and comfortable. Ty is one of the best hosts we have experienced. The entire family loved interacting with all the animals on the ranch especially the giraffes and Tank the Rhino. One of the best stays we’ve had. We’ll absolutely be back and highly recommend Artemis Ranch to anyone looking for a unique, one of a kind getaway.

We went to Artemis Ranch for a weekend get away to hike and enjoy spring in Texas. The cottage is cute, clean and well stocked. The views are amazing since the cottage sits on a rise. Ty was so welcoming and gave us a tour of the property. He is very knowledgeable about the animals on the ranch and local tree and flower species. I don’t think there is anywhere else in Texas where can you feed a rhino and giraffes in the morning and hike by a heard of gazelle on the same property in the same day. I’d highly recommend the cottage at Artemis Ranch! We thoroughly enjoyed staying there.

We had the best time on our girls trip to Artemis Ranch! The Vista Cottage was the perfect place to get away and relax while enjoying the beautiful scenery and wildlife! The cherry on top was feeding the giraffes and rhino! We had such a blast getting to know the owners as they took us around on a tour and told us about the property and animals. You can tell they not only care about the ranch and animals but also your experience while visiting! There are not many places that you can have the experiences they offer and our entire group is already planning our next visit.

Hands down the best host we’ve ever had. Ty put in extra time and effort to make sure our stay was perfect and went so far as to set up the cottage for a special celebration. The took ownership of our stay and went out of his way to make sure our daughters first vacation was something truly special. My sons and I stayed here last year for Thanksgiving and they wanted to return with my sister and niece this year to celebrate Christmas. We had a fun week. There was so much to do and see, we didn't need to leave the property for entertainment. Visiting and feeding the giraffes, rhino and zebras was the highlight of the trip.

We had a fantastic stay at this Vista Cottage! It was a beautiful cottage in a very quiet setting. The grandkids loved feeding apples to “Tank” the Rhino and lettuce to the Giraffes! Our family had an absolutely unforgettable stay at Artemis Ranch. From the moment we arrived, the host made us feel genuinely welcomed—warm, attentive, and truly invested in making our experience special.The property itself is breathtaking. The beautiful South African–inspired landscape creates the perfect setting to disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature. The kids absolutely loved exploring the grounds and were blown away by the free-roaming African wildlife—rhinos, giraffes, and so many other incredible animals. Watching their excitement made the trip even more memorable.The facilities are incredible and thoughtfully stocked. They truly have everything you might need—even fishing gear for the stocked ponds. One of the highlights was the private safari tour. You’re taken out in a fully enclosed, climate-controlled side-by-side to explore the 3,000-acre preserve, and it was an experience our whole family will be talking about for years.Another major plus: the roads throughout the ranch are well maintained, so you do not need a 4x4 vehicle. We were able to comfortably drive the property, and the freedom to explore and hike at our own pace made the stay even more enjoyable.We also opted for the personal chef experience, which was a standout highlight of our trip. Our stay was awesome. Seeing the animals and feeding the giraffes was a huge hit for the whole group. We had adults and little kids. We caught fish in the pond. The ranch manager was available to help with anything we needed and they were very accommodating. The cottage itself is in really great shape. The pool is not heated, so if you are booking during colder months be prepared for that.

This place was amazing. The owner was fantastic. Made us feel right at home. The cottage was very clean with amazing view. Every morning when you awake and walk out onto the 2nd floor deck your subject to see any of different species of animals Ty has on this amazing place. Our last morning we awoke to see a Sika deer standing by the pool. Adriaan was an excellent tour guide. He was very patient with the grand kids while feeding the Rhino and giraffes. Very knowledgeable about the animals and the land. Caught some nice bass in stock pond. We will definitely be back.

Our family had the time of our lives at Artemis Ranch. It honestly feels like the closest you can get to being on safari without leaving the U.S. The peaceful quiet of the ranch combined with the incredible variety of animals made for a magical stay.
