Family vacation

The house was perfect for us. The beach close by was very nice and biking to the park when we wanted big waves was easy and nice.

This house is well equipped and in an absolutely great location. A block from the beach which was ideal and a short easy walk to all downtown has to offer. Lots of space for large families!

Christmas in Lewes

Great and spacious home that has been nicely updated. We were there to see local family for the holidays so did not spend a great amount of time in the home. But beds were comfortable and bathrooms updated and clean. Location is great - close to town and a quick walk a couple blocks to the beach.

Beautiful house

We enjoyed our week in Lewes. The house was beautiful and had all the amenities necessary for a family. They even provided beach chairs and boogie boards. We are always looking for dog friendly houses and beaches as we don’t leave home without our pets. This house and area were perfect. We are thinking of renting again next year. Great house and location!

Awesome family beach trip!

We had a great time with 10 adults, 4 kids under 6 and 1 dog. The house was recently updated and there was a ton of space and places to hang out in the house. Communication with the rental company was smooth and check in and out was easy. It was a close walk to the private beach and it was nice there were extra chairs to use if needed. Outdoor shower was awesome to bathe kids before coming into the house. It's also a 12 min walk into the town area which was nice. We had such a fun time with the family and couldnt have asked for a better experience.

I love the upgrades to this property. The shower on the second floor drained slowly and was not cleaned very well. The cental air was not very efficient. The first floor was cold the second and third floorswere not as cool. Overall the rooms were great location great. I would stay again despite the above.

Gorgeous house close to the beach

We had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful house in Lewes! It is perfect for a group of friends or extended family. We were a group of 12- 6 adults and 6 kids- and there was more than enough space for all of us. The house felt clean and updated and the common spaces provided room for everyone. The beds were comfortable and the showers were hot with good water pressure. The outside shower is perfect for rinsing off after a day at the beach. The two bedrooms on the third level are perfect spaces for older kids to make their own. The beach is beautiful with calm water great for swimming in and is a very short walk from the house- close enough to pop home for snacks, bathroom breaks etc. The kitchen has the basics but I would say that if you’re planning on doing a lot of cooking maybe bring some of your own cookware- we cooked a lot and could have used better knives/ pans. The rental company was great- we had a problem with the washer and they sent someone over to fix it immediately! The town of Lewes is walking distance from this house as well- plenty of good restaurants and cute shops to explore. We absolutely loved our stay here and we hope to be back again!

Great Family Vacation Spot Near Beach and Town

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a great house for a family that needs a lot of bedrooms, has a dog, and wants to walk to beach and town. We had 4 sets of adults and two little kids and everyone had their own room with a bedroom to spare. Tons of sleeping space! The mattresses/pillows are ok and could probably use an upgrade. The house was generally clean at check in but could use a solid deep clean (dust blinds, vacuum under furniture etc) and we noted some upgrades since prior reviews (deck furniture, kitchen being stocked with more tools, etc). The view off the back deck was amazing and the quick walk to the beach was so convenient. You do have to cross a street that can sometimes be busy/speedy and notably most drivers dont stop for peds (not the owners fault but just noting for families with kids). Some parts of the house are starting to show a bit of wear but it is overall a really great house and the beverage center is a really great idea! My one comment that should be addressed asap is the bbq has a metal wire cleaning brush. Once we saw this we decided not to use the grill due to risk of loose wires on grill. Please change your grill cleaning device to something safer for your renters. Just a few things but such a dreamy town with access to wonderful beaches and bike paths. The Lewes Oyster House in town is AMAZING and the main street full of shops was really quaint and almost felt like New England, so much charm. We really enjoyed our stay and Lewes is a great vacation spot!Berkshire Hathaway staff were friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend working with them.

Lewes on the Bay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed a wonderful week of extended family fun. The big kids tackled the waves at the “Big Beach” in Cape Henlopen State Park. The little kids frolicked at the “Little Beach” two blocks from our rental. Some days, we all assembled at each beach. Downtown Lewes is close and fun with great shops, an ice cream parlor and good restaurants. Everybody walked or rode bicycles. Every evening three generations supped around the kitchen table. The “Little Beach” at dusk affords fabulous family photo opportunities.

Reviewer Comments: This true 7 BR home is a great choice for families who want to be very close to the calm beach waters in Lewes as well as the downtown restaurants, shops, and waterside park that this town has to offer. The house was just as described. The limited stairway entrances means it's easier than most homes to navigate with toddlers. Note that there are only 3 bathrooms, but there's 1 on each floor. Multiple decks, plenty of space to "get away."

This is a large nicely renovated house with room for different family groups or a friends and family gathering. steps to the beach with amenities close by. one nit pick: the house could benefit from two different HVAC systems. the temperature difference between first and third floor was extreme.Most people and store owners in the area very friendly and welcoming, a couple of cold shoulders seemed racially motivated to our mixed race extended family group but nothing tragic or insurmountable. it's life right now
