The staff are very welcoming and ensured that the Pill Box was ready for us on our arrival. When you stay here, you have access to many of the amenities of the summer camp (when camp is not in session). This includes tennis, basketball, and canoeing. It is a beautiful and peaceful setting with lots of trees and walking paths.
Better than advertised. Would recommend for for a group of 8 or less. Kitchen is. It equipped for cooking meals but Clifton Forge is only 25 mins away. Camp Director Chasity was very helpful before and during our stay.
We enjoyed our stay. Lovely surroundings. I have to admit I didnât realize that it was an infirmary. The twin beds were firm (not much padding) for those that like softer beds. Overall a good experience.
We had a great time at this amazing camp. I felt like we were in the movie parent trap. I highly recommend this to anyone just looking to get away from everything.
I enjoyed staying at a historic summer camp for two evenings. Beautiful spot.
I think the camp needs to make sure people realize this is the nurses station. No living room or TV. That did not bother me but some others might find that a problem.
The property is in a nice secluded location if that's what you're looking for (and we were) with some nice amenities on the property like basketball, tennis and canoeing or kayaking. It's right adjacent to the river. Nice trails to walk or run. I think it would have been better if a table and chairs could have been placed in the Pill Box for eating. With only two of us, we made due, but with more than that, it would have been really inconvenient. There also is no stove top, so either you need to bring an indoor or outdoor grill, or just use microwaveable food items. Going out to eat is quite a hike. Because of the things you would normally expect to be available in a living space, but were not, I thought it was a bit overpriced. But it was clean and comfortable enough. The Pill Box is the regular work space for camp medical staff or nurse . It wasn't clear that we were renting the camp infirmary. The beds were also camp beds, so a little on the thin, firm side. Still enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
