I don't know where to start I wish we were staying longer. From arriving, being settling in, the meals, the service, the locals, the surrounding area, was just all perfect. We will definitely be returning in the future when we in the area again, very gutted it is so far from our home otherwise it went would be visiting more often.

A traditional English pub set in the village green in this beautiful village. Walkable to Aysgarth Falls. Great value pub food and nice staff. Overall a lovely stop off for us on the way up to the Scottish Highlands.
Wonderful little hotel: nothing is too much troubl
Very clean throughout. Small shower cubicle but water lovely and hot. Free wifi and breakfast, with a tasty selection of foods. We also enjoyed a reasonably priced evening meal and a drink in the friendly bar. Beautiful village and area in general. Great communication, friendly service and excellent value for money, with special deals advertised for Christmas and Bonfire Night bundles. Will definitely return for a longer stay.
Very clean spacious bedroom, good breakfast, war. Welcome

July visit to the Dales
When we booked in they didn't have our name on their list or that we had a dog. The room we were given was a little dated considering the amount we had paid and comparing against other properties that we had stayed at. The food was very good and the service was quick. Wifi was non existant in the bedroom but fine in the pub. All the staff were nice. The village itself was beautiful.
We did not stay. There was no parking spaces available. Access to the room was limited for an older person with slight mobility issues. We booked a more accessible hotel.
The host is very friendly and the property it really nice, bed was a little hard, but nothing to complain about, food and drink at the pub are great and reasonably priced, very homely feel, welcoming and friendly.
Watch out though there are a few pubs called the Fox and Hounds in the area, so make sure you go to the right one.
A wonderful old pub in the middle of scenic walks.
Very comfy rooms out back with wifi.
The bar though small was friendly and welcoming.
Drinks are well priced compared to other pubs.
Evening meals in the dining room are super tasty
Our Breakfast was lovely.
Recommend highly.

Small but comfortable.
Small room but had all the basics & was comfortable. Was in room 2 & was woken early by daylight flooding in through the window as the curtains were so thin & also the door having a glass top with only a net on. Really needs black out blinds or eye masks provided. Free WiFi but couldn't connect for longer than a couple of minutes at a time as signal was so poor. Only place I've ever stayed & not asked what I would like for breakfast, just got what we were given.
We arrived a little late but had already been contacted as to whether we needed an evening meal and were given a time. Meal was ok. After the meal there was a power cut in the village. The Pub quickly found the cause of the power cut, how long it would last etc and provided us with a strong torch. We had to leave before breakfast the next day but were offered and given a packed lunch in lieu of breakfast which was great.
Not expensive but well below average in every way!
Tired hotel run at the landlords convenience rather than the guests. Last food order at 7pm, as kitchen shuts at 7.30. Hard 30 minute breakfast window from 9 to 9.30am; although I was offered a packed lunch when I said I would be leaving before that time. This was given to me at the end of dinner.
Room, off a cluttered rear courtyard was cheaply furnished and threadbear. En-suite was functional but far from luxurious.
Headboard of bed had head stains and the cheap curtains barely fit the windows, and kept no light out at all.
The room was quiet, once the barman had jettisoned the evenings bottles into the aluminium bin in the courtyard at 10.15pm. I had been asleep 50 minutes by then as there is absolutely nothing to do in West Burton.
The average food, cheap furnishing and tired decor reminded me of a backpackers hostel, rather than a hotel.
Lovely place to stay. Everyone was helpful and nice to be around. The breakfasts were a set menue but there was nothing wrong with them, they set me up for the day. The evening meals were tasty well presented and plenty of it with a good choice to suit everyone. I would highly recommend
Lovely village pub with excellent food and staff. We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant which was good value for money. The room was clean and tidy albeit a bit dated. We all slept well though so no complaints. 5 minute walk to a gorgeous waterfall and beautiful village green right outside the pub door.
