Stayed for a week over Christmas with husband and two adult daughters. The girls stayed downstairs and had their own bathroom and bedroom. We were able to cook a Christmas feast because of the well-equipped kitchen with just a few additions. Our 95-year old matriarch was easily wheeled into the house.the location is just minutes from her senior residence at the Landing. It was great to have a washer/dryer. We will return!
Great short stay to visit family in Lincoln area. Perfect for our family of 4 but could accommodate at least 1 more person easily. Stocked with great stuff, especially impressed with all the baby gear, despite not needing to use it. Very cool
To begin, the host, Angela, was so kind and responsive. Despite me having relatively insignificant issues (how to work the remote), she answered my texts quickly and informatively.
The attention to detail that Angela has to make the stay comfortable was amazing. The house was filled with amenities that few other owners consider.
I would definitely stay again.
We stayed at this clean and quaint little property near the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for 2 nights with our family. We had a campfire on the first night, slept great on both nights, and cooked dinner at the VRBO both nights. Very easy to get to local restaurants via car. We travelled to U of N the HayMarket, and the John Breslow Ice Arena which all were under a 10 min drive. The home was clean and the water pressure was FANTASTIC! The bath tub was deep and wide and so nice for soak after a long day on your feet. The only thing I might change is adding a bit more seating in the living room on the first floor, though Not a deal breaker. Also the neighborhood looked a bit run down and sketchy. We decided not to go for walks in the evening. Inside the home, the decor was perfectly done. I loved the blue chairs and cabinets in the updated kitchen. Also the butterflies in the master bedroom were whimsical. If we come back to Lincoln, NE we will definitely re-visit this property.
Came to Lincoln for a family visit. This home was lovely to stay at and in the perfect location for us. We will definitely consider staying again in the future.
Itâs an older home but the upgrades make it a cute little place with charm. It is very well stocked with everything you need and may have forgotten and very clean. Conveniently located to everywhere. Great communication with owner.
Cute house in a nice location. Upon arrival the upstairs shower was inoperable - apparently since July, the downstairs bathroom sink was not cleaned and the toilet was not flushed, and there were spider webs and dead bugs on the stairwell ledge. The owner says that her goal is to have a 5 star property and be a premier owner. I hope a review like this one and the previous one grabs her attention.
She did give a small credit for our inconvenience.
The house is clean and well cared for. The kitchen is well appointed (pots, storage containers, spices, etc.) and there are lots of fun touches in the house. That said, the house is 100+ years old and has squeeky floors and doors. The street was mostly quiet, but the neighborhood is run down.
However, we were told about 3 hours before check in that the basement had flooded..."oh and one last thing", the upstairs shower didn't work. This forced us to shower in the basement that just flooded (separate area) and sleep in the office. We didn't have much choice but to stay, especially when we inquired with the host about the refund policy and she restated her 14-day cancellation policy. I felt a flooded basement and a broken shower should be an automatic refund upon request. She said she thought we would still be comfortable in the house. When we got there, we thought we could make due. We are in Lincoln for a reason and didn't have time to find alternate housing and try to get a refund. After a few days, the smell in the basement was too much to deal with and we were concerned about the health effects of what was causing the smell. We left a day early. She did refund some of our money for the "inconvenience".
The host was very nice about the situation and clearly cares about the property, but please make sure issues are fixed before you book!
Angela has created a really cute property. Everything was up to date and very accessible. Most of our time was spent away from the property attending a family reunion. A comfortable place to stay and would recommend it for others.
Great little home near the heart of Lincoln. I appreciated the vibe, and care taken of the home. Street parking is readily available, and the back yard is perfect for sitting out and relaxing. There was a cute wild bunny who popped by every morning to say "hi" outside the sliding door. Easy access to Haymarket, NU, Zoo, Sunken Gardens, and basically everything Lincoln has to offer.
We traveled to Lincoln for a Friends wedding. The house was perfect. Walking distance (1 Block) to a Pub/Grill, 9 South CharGrill. House had K-Cups, Tea, Hot Cocoa and Snacks available when we arrived. Owner also provided firewood for the fire pit. Made our stay that more enjoyable and less stressful.
This place is very cute and cheerful. Lots of space upstairs and downstairs. We had 3 adults and 2 young kids and everyone was comfortable. Kitchen is very functional. Everything was very clean. Thank you!
We had a great time here. We ate supper and breakfast out, and both restaurants were very good and within walking distance. We loved the house! It's just as described. The hostess had snacks, itinerary suggestions, bathroom goodies, a well-equipped kitchen...a person (or persons) would just need to bring personal items. The hostess even had stuff for kids! She's wonderful! If we ever come back to Lincoln NE, we'll stay here.
Thoughtful touches! We had a short one night stay. Wish it had been longer. Will definitely keep this in mind! Great water pressure, comfy bed and pillows, easy drive to Pinewood Bowl
and downtown.
