Alfama - 2 Level Apartment With A Stunning View

The apartment is in an old building and fully renovated by us. We knocked down many walls to create an open and airy feeling throughout the apartment. The terrace was a key feature for us when we bought the place and we have spent many lovely mornings, lunches and evenings there admiring the views and letting the Lisbon sun in. The roof window on the second floor ads to airiness. We love cooking together, and since there are so many great food products available in Portugal, we created a kitchen that is made for team cookings. Lots of space and a kitchen island makes it a great place to be together. The kitchen is integrated in the living room making that area the natural hub for friends and family. Alfama, the old town with its myriad of alleys and lanes, bars and restaurants are just outside the door. Explore the Castle, the Pantheon and the Monastery by foot and take the chance to buy some antiques at the Feira de Ladra (Lisbon's biggest and best flea market). The metro is only 200 meters away from the apartment and gives you easy access to all Lisbon's attractions and there are buses on the street itself getting you out to Expo is 15 minutes.

When we arrived at the property we discovered that it was located on the 3 floor and there was no elevator. We had to take all our luggage up 43 steps to reach the unit. The primary bedroom is on the 2nd floor of the unit but it is a loft room in the attic so no door for privacy. The bathroom for that unit has a sloped roof so if you are a man of average height you will hit your head when taking a shower. On the last day we noticed tiny bugs coming out of the countertop beside the cooktop on the kitchen.

Lovely apartment well situated in Alfama. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Well-appointed and comfortable. Would not be suitable for people with mobility issues as several flights of steep stairs to apartment, but was fine for us. Good communication from host.

The apartment worked great for us and our two teenage boys. Lots of room and two bathrooms were a plus. The main room upstairs unfortunately is not closed in or very sound proof but overall the stay was incredibly comfortable and we greatly appreciated all the homely creature comforts the host thought of which most hotels would not have. The view of the Pantheon lit up at night from the balcony is superb and we felt very safe and comfortable at this VRBO. We would not recommend this VRBO though to seniors or anyone who has difficulty with stairs due to the apartment being up 3 flights of steep steps.

The house was clean and the house us spacious. The neighborhood was very loud on Friday night-peopke yelling, cars honking, things being dragged down the road. The primary shower is wonky-the ceiling is angled and its tough for anyone over 5 ft 7 to shower comfortably.Thursday and Saturday nughts in the house were much quieter on the street and easier to sleep.

Very nice apt in the old part of Lisbon. Loved the winding streets, cozy restaurants and friendly merchants. Supplying more than one kitchen towel and/or paper towels would be nice. We enjoyed our stay!

Fabulous apartment in a quiet area of Alfama but walking distance to all that Lisbon has to offer. Really well equipped. Amazing Tunisian cafe round the corner opposite the Pantheon is a must for breakfast

Ekaterina has an absolute gem of an apartment in Alfama. The five of us stayed for 5nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everybody had enough space. The little terrace on the top floor is so charming: there’s a view of the Pantheon, neighbouring apartments, the river. Someone playing the saxophone one evening was just a cherry on the top. Walkable distance to restaurants. Great communication with Ekaterina. Definitely recommend for families :) Will return 150%

This was a very large, wonderful apartment steps away from all that the old section of Lisbon has to offer! We loved all the amenities that the host provided along with the wonderful rooftop terrace- perfect for evening wine and morning coffee! Perfect Location for Us

We had a wonderful stay here. It was a great location for us, easy to walk around to all the locations we were interested in seeing. Plus there was on street parking for our rental car. If we return to Lisbon for a second visit/stay we would most definitely see if this place was available again. The hosts were amazing responsive to our questions, we could not be happier with our stay.
