We had a lovely stay here! The apartment itself was spotless and felt very welcoming from the moment we arrived. The neighborhood felt safe and gave us a great sense of the local culture, which we really enjoyed exploring. The only challenge was the stairs leading up to the unit—they’re very steep, almost like a ladder, which made carrying luggage a bit tricky. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely something to be aware of. Looking back, we might have preferred staying in Baixa just to be a bit closer to everything, but overall, this was a clean, comfortable spot in a charming area with a truly local vibe.

Great place for fit people with no heavy luggage

The apartment is at the top of 3 flights of extremely steep narrow stairs. Getting our luggage up and down was a real challenge. Once moved in we enjoyed the place. Getting a taxi was difficult and involved a hike and the cab drivers being unable to find it. There is a big commercial parking lot about 10 minutes walk down the hill, and once we learned the route it was easy. The host was prompt, kind, helpful and patient. I would recommend this apartment to young, fit people with very little luggage. 😊

Authentic access

We really enjoyed our stay, quiet area, great little places to eat with locals… but if you cannot do very high angle stairs it’s not for you. Very clean, secure and had all we needed after 36 hours travelling.
