great potential but expectations not met

Great location for central Cork County. When we were at the cottage it was cold and wet. The only heat was an electric heater at the entrance of the galley kitchen. This heater was controlled by the owner with a smart phone, who was in Argentina at the time. The hot water boiler was obviously turned off as the 2 hot water heaters and towel drying rack in the toilet/shower area did not work. To get the temperature up in the cottage, we turned on the oven & left the door open. The entrance hall & toilet/shower room had no heat. Shower towels were dried by hanging them in front of the open oven. The washing machine also did not work. Thanks to the owners wife Catherine, who took our laundry & washed & dried for us. If it wasn't for her, trying to salvage this rental, we would be asking for our money back. Great location & potential but with an absent owner, not worth the cost or experience

My stay in Lismore

This place and the surrounding area are amazing in my opinion. I learned the hard way, but you deff need a car in this area. The towns all around are cute and have a nice old school charm. And Lismore castle and gardens are amazing. Just wish the lord and lady would allow tours of the castle.

Peaceful cottage near a charming town

Simple studio cottage in a quiet rural area near the charming and historic town of Lismore. Convenient distance from Waterford and coastal towns, as well as more inland towns of Cahir and Cashel. Friendly host Emil provided a comprehensive list of sights for day trips, restaurants and events, and instructions for the property. Good walking trails from both cottage and Lismore.

Oase der Ruhe im GrĂŒnen

Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich, nicht aufdringlich, sehr zuvorkommend und geben hilfreiche Tipps zu Ausflugszielen in der Umgebung, sowie Restaurants und SupermĂ€rkten. Schon vor dem Aufenthalt hat der Gastgeber alle Infos zum Haus gegeben und bei der Anreise unterstĂŒtzt, inklusive genaue Wegbeschreibung, mit der wir im Dunkeln auch gut zum Haus gefunden haben. Die KĂŒche ist gut ausgestattet, Kaffee und Tee war bei uns vorhanden und etwas Essig, Öl und Salz, Pfeffer. Das Apartement ist stilvoll und gemĂŒtlich eingerichtet. Das Bett ist ca. 1,80m lang, wir haben da gut reingepasst, deswegen hat es uns nicht gestört. Es ist schön ruhig und idyllisch, dafĂŒr benötigt man einen Mietwagen (keine Fußwege an den Landstraßen oder von Ort zu Ort), um vor Ort unterwegs zu sein und hat auch Spinnen am Appartement. Mit dem Auto erreicht man von hier aus gut die Berge, Cork, Waterford und ist in 10 Min. in Lismore.

The Inn at Glencarin

I was there for an event Ironman Youghal, our stay here was a perfect base for that purpose, 25min Drive to the event was perfect, then very nice to drive back into the peaceful countryside away from the hustle and bustle, but very central to get to everything else in the area, we loved our stay here, Emi the owner was very inviting despite the fact he was away on holiday, his communication was impeccable, we felt well looked after even without him there, as his property is on the same grounds as the apartment, Our Stay was lovely

A very nice quiet place to relax

Lismore is a very nice town with good restaurants, a castle and gardens. The "2 Towers" are worth a visit and if you like whiskey, the "Blackwater Distillery" is a must. Emi is a very good host. We were very satisfied.

Das Haus mit dem Fuchs

Glencairn bei Lismore ist Irland in seiner Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit. Der Vermieter ist super nett! Natur pur. Ein Fuchs, der vorbei kommt, wenn er Hunger hat. GrĂ¶ĂŸere Ausflugsziele gut mit dem Auto erreichbar. Unbedingt Youghal, Mahon Falls und Dungarvan einplanen. Ein absolut empfehlenswertes Ferienhaus.

Beautiful Ireland

Staying in our self contained unit with Catherine and Emi was wonderful. Beautiful views,tranquil surroundings and such kind and thoughtful people. We stayed for a month and felt we could easily have stayed twice as long. We have been travelling for six months and this was by far the happiest part of our holiday, we hope to return in the future.

Rural retreat

It is a quite spacious and well equipped farm conversion tucked away on a back road with easy access to Lismore. Very peaceful. Our host Emiliano was extremely welcoming and attentive. Strongly recommended.

Glencairn relaxation

Everything was as described, no issues whilst there and Emi is pretty much immediate with his responses to any enquiries we had using wasapp. Plenty of hot water heating as needed, no real terrestrial tv but wifi was very fast and apps for catchup tv were abundant. Emi was very helpful but never intrusive, always taking the opportunity to ask if we needed anything. We had a thoroughly relaxing stay so peaceful and quiet and the clear skies made for some incredible star gazing. For the price you can pay for a comparable property, The Inn is an absolute steal really you couldn't ask for more tbh

The cottage was just perfect for the two of us. Quiet beautiful rural setting, large American shower, nicely equipped kitchen, TV, washing machine and plenty of hot water. Emiliano, the host, provided great sight seeing tips and restaurants info . Would definitely return

Peaceful retreat

We enjoyed our week in Lismore very much. The cottage is lovely; small but big enough for two, very well equipped and comfortable. Emi and Catherine gave us a warm welcome and were very helpful. A car is essential as the nearest shop, pub, café etc are all in Lismore, a couple of miles away. It's a very pleasant town with a small Cathedral but there are better amenities in Cappoquin.

Eight Night Stay in Tranquil Detached Conversion

We chose to stay at Glencairn, just a short distance from the pretty town of Lismore, as we wanted a base from which to explore County Waterford. This proved to be a good choice of location. We were able to visit many lovely places including: Dungarvan, Youghal, Clonmel, Waterford City, Ardmore etc. The Inn at Glencairn was very comfortable for just two people. It is well equipped and tastefully decorated. Beautiful views from the large garden and from the windows. The owners were extremely welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend staying at The Inn at Glencairn.

Great Location

Great location out in the countryside. 10 minutes if that from Lismore. The space was amazing with the best amenities I have had in a property. There was so many lovely touches. We loved the views out the windows and sat out most days with our coffees at breakfast. The location is very tranquil. Our hosts were amazing and check in with us to make sure everything was ok for us. It was a fantastic stay. We hope to visit again later in 2021
