Dear Hotel Manager,
Upon arrival on a business trip, the receptionist did not inform me that my room had no air conditioning but was instead heated â in May.
I was required to PAY AT CHECK-IN, which I usually never do, and only after payment was I able to see the room.
To my surprise, it was extremely hot â 29°C inside.
Reception said they couldnât help and advised me to find another hotel myself at 8 PM.
The assistant admitted other guests had complained, and the issue was known. ThatÂŽs why they recquired payment at check-in only. IT IS FRAUD.
After a tense exchange, I was refunded, with managerâs comment on invoice as â wished to leave five minutes after seeing the room."..
This experience was disappointing and felt dishonest. I expect better transparency and service.
Room wasnât ready had to wait over 2hours no heating in room not working had to wait for engineer couldnât fix it gave us portable heater in room as for us only being there for 1 night feel like we didnât have time to enjoy ourselves
3/5 as the bathroom wasnât very clean and during our stay the heating and air conditioning wasnât working, however the staff did provide a heater with the room. It also said online the hotel bar was open until 1am but we went at 11pm on Saturday and it was closed, we were redirected to another bar but they didnât have drinks behind the bar and the staff member had to go back and forth to the closed bar to get drinks.. I cannot fault the staff members as they were all brilliant!
But the service from the hotel and cleanliness of the room could be improved.. we also found our room particularly noisy compared to previous stays
We have stayed here before and had a 5/5 experience last time, and seems like the hotel had a very busy weekend with a wedding and valentines weekend so hopefully a one off and wouldnât stop us from staying again
The hotel is in a super convenient location and well presented throughout with lovely and helpful staff.
Got married at this hotel 10 years ago so wanted to reminisce with the wife. Few subtle changes but very much remained the same charisma that made us want it as our wedding venue.
Grand entrance, very clean and well presented. Reception was very tidy and manned by 2 very helpful women who gave us the good news of room upgrade and bad news they were having heating issues and think that the room is affected.
Discussion with staff provided friendly reception and felt like they were genuinely interested as was talking about the hotel 10 years ago and the changes.
Up to the room and very grand room with balcony with nice tidy room and large format tv, comfy seat and nice balcony with views of the city.
I was not impressed with the housekeeping service given by this hotel. I came for a special birthday celebration from the USA. At check-in I was not informed about the strict housekeeping policies. I was just expected to read the signs about it after a long day of traveling, or read the door signs in the room, without being told to. I appreciate the work they do for the environment, but I had to ask twice to have my hair conditioner filled in the bathroom. I was spoken to rudely by the front desk for asking for basics like toilet paper and getting my trashed removed (which contained food from the night before) because I didnât have a sign on my door very early in the morning, even though the sign hung on the door while I was out ALL DAY. I was charged a âcity taxâ without being told. It was only explained to me when I asked what the charge was because my room had been fully paid months before. When I first asked about transportation to Manchester airport, the only suggestion was to take a ÂŁ100 taxi, instead of mentioning at ÂŁ10 pound train option. Some of the staff were helpful, but definitely some were not. While the hotel itself is lovely, I will not stay here again.
Sadly the heating was broken 22 degrees in the room , manger tried to reset and fix , when we got back in from our late night we had planned we were so tired and felt it didnât seem too bad until an hour later , it was unbearable and never slept the whole night . We were offered a 25% reduction which was later increased to 40 and was told the manager would contact us , we are awaiting for this to happen .
I wish the cleaning staff came into my room when
I was gone during the day but other than that itâs was a great experience I canât wait to book again
