Garry and Shirley gave us a warm welcome,Garry was case carrier up to the 3rd floor, bit steep if your old and stiff.
Breakfast was cooked to order and really enjoyed it,full English with choice of cereal, toast etc first.
Location is great for what we wanted, just off Lord Street handy for bars and pier area.Free off road parking for a few .
When we arrived we were greeted as we parked up and our bags were taken to our room which was on the 2nd floor. The room was clean and fresh.
We were given a time for breakfast with a variety of options. Food was delicious, hot and well presented.
The owners were always available until 7pm and very helpful about where to go if eating out or wanting entertainment. We would definately recommend and stay again however as sisters in our 70's we would ask for a room on the lower floor.
Shirley and Gary are a lovely couple friendly people focused, nothing too much trouble,I had a single room nice and quite.A smashing breakfast excellent quality local produce. Property is so central, shops and beach around the corner. Looking forward to staying again very soon.
From our first greeting we were treated like friends or family. The room was lovely and there was a great selection on the breakfast menu. We would definitely recommend Le Maitre in Southampton. Gary and Shirley were brilliant hosts with helpful suggestions and useful info.
Many thanks. XX
Lovely stay! Right from the start, Gary and Shirley were really friendly and welcoming, and couldn't do enough to make my stay enjoyable. Will definitely be coming back!
Booked very late, what a wonderful couple Gary and Shirley are. NOTHING was too much, which is exactly whatâs needed after a five hour drive. Twin room was clean, comfy, and even somewhat âprivateâ for a twin being that the two singles werenât right next to one another. Shower, although quite small, had excellent pressure. Breakfast was included, and it was NOT your ânormal half hearted attemptâ at breakfast. Bacon/sausage was not the mass produced type - it was delicious. Iâd paid ÂŁ16 for something half as good in Edinburgh week before. If you want a place where the owners would give up their own room before letting you down - them this is it.
Stayed here while playing some of the best golf courses on the English golf coast. Wonderful place on a quiet street. Close to pubs and town centre. Short walk to train station.
Gary and Shirley made us feel like home. Nice breakfast with lots of choices.
Would definitely stay there again if I come back to Southport.
Spent a couple of nights at this hotel.Gary and Shirley are friendly, helpful and welcoming hosts at this clean, well appointed property and did all they could to make our stay enjoyable. Le Maitre is within walking distance of the main shopping area, train station and theatres etc Our room was spotless and had en-suite shower, separate toilet, tv and plenty of storage space as well as a tea/coffee tray and bottle of water provided. The bed was very comfortable and the freshly cooked breakfast was a perfect start to each day. Parking is limited in front of the property but we were fortunate during our stay, however alternative parking is available close by.
All in all, we would recommend Le Maitre and would book again when next in the area. Thank you
liked the size of the bedroom only thing was the stairs but we are both 75years old spotless clean breakfast one of the best best friuit salad i have ever had would highly recommend
I arrived at the hotel to be greeted by Gary & Shirley, I explained that I needed to leave by 0715 the next morning and they said I could have breakfast from 0645.
The room was slightly outdated but exceptionally clean and the bed was comfortable which is all you need for a one night stay.
I had a full choice of an extensive breakfast menu, though I only chose to have muesli and a bacon sandwich.
Gary and Shirley are a very nice couple and deserve the exceptional reviews they get, I would not hesitate to stay again for a short break.
