The product itself is excellent and very well finished. While the service was generally pleasant, I felt it did not consistently match the high standard set by the property. The staff were friendly and approachable, though at times the service could have been more efficient. For example, at midday when the bar was very quiet, it took around 15 minutes to be served despite there being four staff behind the bar, with two preparing for service and two chatting. We experienced similar inconsistencies at reception. Upon checking in, we noticed a sewage smell in the bathroom. As we needed to get ready and head out quickly, we mentioned this on our way out and were told that maintenance would investigate and that an alternative room would be available when we returned. When we came back, however, we were asked to return to the original room to check whether the smell was still present and to call reception if it was. The smell remained, and we were then moved without issue. While the situation was resolved, I felt this could have been handled more smoothly on our return. I was also surprised that the issue had not been identified prior to the room being allocated. Overall, the staff were professional, but I felt there was a missed opportunity to deliver a standout guest experience. The exception was a Scouser lady with a black bob at breakfast, who was consistently efficient and a pleasure to speak with. She really stood out, and the property could do with more staff like her.

This hotel is fantastic, superb service and facilities, very accommodating staff, excellent bar and perfectly located to explore Liverpool. Sicilian street food place across the street a big plus for me.

The wait for check-in was nearly 30 mins in a very hot reception area. The room key didn’t work when I got to the room and had to come back down to reception ( this happened again throughout visit). The room was not a 5 star experience. To be honest it looks tired and there was dust in the room. However, the bar was very nice and the staff were friendly

Arrived at 12 and told to come back at 3pm for the room key. Came back at agreed time but actually didn't get the key until 430pm. Room was ok, however loud noise coming from air vents ( wasn't air con). No conditioner in bathroom ( was empty). Coat hanger left from previous guest. Stain on bedding , Tile in bathroom had been replaced or repaired but grouting finish was messy. Tried calling from room service but no answer, Tried calling reception and again no answer.
