Bitterly cold in the room. Next day (still not up to fair temperature), the staff turned the heat off so the room was freezing the second night too. When i say cold, even in thick socks on the carpeted areas, our feet were freezing. The bathroom slate/tile floor was beyong description.

Dark, gloomy decor, awkward small bathroom with deep Japanese bath that you had to climb into from a step in order to have a shower. A simple shower tray would have been so much more practical, and safe! Strange lever basin tap that wasn't obvious which way was cold, hence scalded hand.

Facilities are very nice but the decor is quite dated as well as dark and gloomy. Street noise makes it sound like a window is open rather than just noise from outside. Went to breakfast with 45 mins left of service and nothing had really been replenished, no one came to ask if we wanted extra eggs after a sign saying to order your eggs with server. Coffee wasn’t great and tasted poor quality. Sausages were good, but no butter left out for toast.
