We came for our anniversary. When we arrived there was only one person on reception and a queue of people. Finally after someone complained another member of staff came who was lovely. We ordered breakfast for both days. Our room was ok but very noisy. If you are by bars and clubs in London you would expect better soundproofing. We were woken regularly through both nights with swearing and shouting- not exactly the romantic getaway we hoped for. We came for breakfast at 9am - there was nothing to say avoid busy times- it was packed and majority of the buffet was empty - no fruit, no cheese no hams, etc. the coffee was subpar. For £19 a person it was shocking. We cancelled our second breakfast but were basically told it was our fault for going at a busy time. We were given a voucher for free drinks as an apology but were then told the bar and restaurant were basically closed for an event so we would have to sit somewhere else. We went down before the bar closed for the events and were made to feel unwelcome - in fact the party guests who ordered after us got their drinks first and then it was clear we had been forgotten when the barman asked what we were waiting for. The only positive of the whole weekend was Robert who went above and beyond at dinner on Friday and then again checking in on us on Saturday. When we reported our disappointment at reception we were told they couldn’t really do anything about noise as they were located in a busy space in London

Great location, lovely warm welcome with mince pies and mulled wine. A much surprised upgrade and a drinks voucher each. Beautiful clean and large room with a big deep bath which was amazing after a day of walking round London. It was just the most perfect stay.

Great location for the business needs of my trip, very convenient to Tower Hill and Fenchurch, short walk to Liverpool Street station. Housekeeping was a bit off this visit -- just small things like a cleaning rag left in the room, breakfast crumbs left in the desk -- but overall, I enjoyed my stay and will likely visit again.
