Heating in room not working, went 2 doors up the road to sister hotel/reception to advise... 2 hours later someone came to bleed radiator, did not work, 2 hours later cheap fan heater turned up. Obviously was not going to leave it on when I was out for the evening. Came back to a freezing room. put fan heater on but very noisy and cut out after 2 hours. I left at 7am having had no sleep and seriously cold... No 24/7 phone line available.

We arrived very, very early, and were greeted by someone who was clearly asleep. They refused to let us in, said check-in wasn't until 2 pm, and literally kicked us out of the place by pushing the door on us. We returned at 2 pm, and the person at the counter was completely different and extremely friendly.

Good if you get nice room! Otherwise don't bother

Not as comfortable as last time I stayed here. This time I had a basement room which was down some rickety broken steps that had no lighting. The door to the street was left open. There was cleaning stuff left out in the hall and a bucket collecting water leaking from the floor above, outside my room. Strong smell of some horrible scented candle presumably to try and mask the smell of weed. The bed wasn't very comfortable, but the room was fairly clean if not nicely decorated. Terrible lighting and could hear next door's TV and the tenant above stomping around.There was lots of hot water. Not as good as the last time I stayed here so probably won't come back.

Wonderful stay!

Lovely comfortable bed with crisp white sheets and good shower with plenty of hot water. Everything was perfect and my only comment would be that the walls are a little thin and I could hear residence in the next rooms but earplugs sorted that! I was very glad that there was little road noise or passing trains.

The room was very small but they do let you know that. Bathroom had a musky smell but I believe that was the built in air freshener. And it’s close to the fire brigade and police station so be prepared for lots of sirens. Overall it was great. No major complaints.

Waste of Time & Money

Absolutely horrendous experience. Nobody was manning reception when we arrived, so a different hotel guest had to phone for staff just so we could check in. The room itself was incredibly small and cramped, but would have been fine if not for the appalling service. When we tried to check out the reception was, again, entirely unstaffed, despite being within the hours it is supposedly manned. Myself and my partner waited at least 20 minutes for someone to come and check us out, and called the provided number multiple times over that period to try to speak to literally any member of staff. We could not get in touch, so had to just leave our key on a small shelf. This also meant we were unable to store our baggage anywhere, which meant we couldn't do half of the activities that were planned. When I contacted Comfotel GRN to complain, they offered no kind of compensation, and had the nerve to even suggest we try visiting again some other time. Spend your money literally anywhere else - these people don't care about you.

I honestly do not like to give bad reviews. But this one really deserves it. It is the epitome of a catfish hotel. The smell was atrocious, like 50 years of cigarette smoke and animals. The bed was so uncomfortable and NOT what is advertised. I ended up buying a blanket for padding. The stairs outside are basically falling apart. The shower head was broken. The cleaning lady was the only thing actually good about the place. She is kind and is doing the best she can do in the hovel this place is.
