Lots of steps

The biggest down side for me was I was on the 4th floor with very narrow steps.There is nothing on website about this and as I am almost 70 it was difficult.Shower was very slow to get hot but there was a fridge and bed was comfy.

The most adorable hotel I’ve ever seen, so convenient to Paddington station. There are plenty of restaurants and stores around. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were too thick and hard. The room was clean enough, except for a dust bunny or two. You can hear the tube come through Paddington from early morning and into the night, and at first I thought it would keep me awake, but I got used to the sound and vibration. The stairs are very narrow and steep and are hard to climb while carrying luggage. Very simple, very basic, but I’d stay here again for that price.

Lovely overnight stay at the Dolphin hotel, staff very friendly and helpful, the room was very clean, smaller than anticipated but this isn’t uncommon in London. Breakfast was good. Property was slightly dated but well maintained. Very close to Paddington station and tube, with lots of restaurants, pubs and shops in the vicinity. Would definitely stay there again.

Nostalgic but not again

Maybe i didn't read the hotel info close enough. I've stayed in London refurbished row house/hotel before. Enjoyed the quirks. However this hotel while 4 floors, had no elevator. Up 3 flights of very narrow, very worn carpeted stairs. Between floor 2 & 3 it wasn't even wide enough to provide a handrail. 5 beds in room, 3 single, 1 set of bunk beds. Was truly no larger than an average size bedroom. I know the Brits describe the bathroom as a water closet. This particular description isn't even close. You could not stand or sit starting on the toilet, because the sink was that close. Extremely small shower, that when you existed you had trouble drying off, and turning or dressing. Again VERY OLD BUILDING, I get it. Never had AC back during WW2 or after rebuild. Scaffolding outside the window, with protective covers for the workers. Zero airflow in the room with window wide open. Could not turn the heater off. Not to mention one of the beds was pushed up right against it. Think I'll look better next time. On the plus side very close to Paddington Station.

Wonderful little place…but subway rumblings

Cute boutique hotel. Updated furnishings, tiny room but all amenities. Super clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Great location!! I was on ground floor so did hear subway rumblings underground.
