Very short trip. Good location and rather close to an underground. Internet was a little wonky especially at 5 am when we needed to order an Uber. Kind of stressful. Overall it was good.

While the hotel met our expectations, we did not see any explicit disclosure that the rooms are not air conditioned. Even on moderate summer evenings the room temperature was significantly higher than the outside air with the windows open and a fan running. Would avoid during warmer weather.

A Few Days in Central London

The hotel is centrally located and the staff are usually friendly but not particularly efficient and efficient. No checkins before 2pm which meant a 30 minute wait to get checked in. Despite having prepaid with Expedia I was asked to pay again. After showing proof that I had paid, this was waived. But it all took time as others behind me waited. Over the four days there was daily housekeeping but the sheets were never changed and on one day the housekeeping was incomplete with rubbish from the bin left on the bathroom sink. One drawback is that there is no air conditioning. Ok in winter but not in summer when it gets to 30 degrees (C). The breakfast was superb. While it didn’t vary there was plenty of choice and the quality was good.

Great location but no aircon

Location and service sets this hotel apart - brilliantly close to attractions and the centre of town. Staff were fantastic - friendly, professional and quick to engage. The downside is that there’s no aircon, which is less than ideal for a sticky London summer. Windows do open a little and a fan is provided, but we still didn’t sleep much. Also be aware that rooms are tiny, smaller than we’ve encountered previously in central London hotels. We had a king park view room and while the bed was large and very comfortable, the room size is the same as a standard double which left next to no room between the end of the bed and the table against the wall - we had to walk sideways to pass from one side to the other. Also presuming housekeeping found it difficult to navigate the small room as areas of carpet were continually missed from vacuuming during our stay. Bathroom is well equipped with a decent shower, but again very small in size. Breakfast and bar snacks were great - fresh, well cooked and good value for money. We’d stay here again from choice, but not in summer and would look to book a larger room size next time.

A few things went wrong: - bloody stain on the sheets - unfriendly staff to answer basic questions (trains, travel distance to Gatwick airport, etc) - No AC - and the worst…. we got ripped off by a Pedicab wanting to charge $400 pounds for a 10 minute ride. Pedicabs are largely unregulated in London and are a threat to tourists. Hotel staff played it safe and did not want to get involved in helping handle an uncomfortable situation. They felt threatened by the pedicab driver for sure. They could have handled the situation better. I did not like the experience…

The breakfast was amazing and lots of variety. I'm glad we chose this option. Staff was helpful and courteous. Room was clean and the location was central for all that we wanted to do. We would stay here again.

No AC at this property! With the heat wave we had, it was very difficult to sleep as the windows had to be open and the street noise was constant. I slept very little during my 6 day stay. The proximity to the bus routes, metro and shops are the strong points. The neighbourhood felt safe and the staff were helpful. Overall I would stay here again but not in the hot summer months.

The main part, breakfast and the staff were all excellent but the room had no air con and (despite being given two fans) proved to be so unbearable that we were forced to go home two days early. It's bad when you dread going back to your room because it is so bad.

We stayed in this hotel for three nights. The hotel is conveniently located in an upper-scale neighbour with a clean and safe feeling. The breakfast is fantastic with a lot of diet options and excellent choice of hot drinks. The dinning area of the breakfast is very spacious and can accommodate some 50+ people easily. The hotel is very old with no air conditioning in both the room and hallway. Also no air circulation in the room and hallway, making the stay inside the hotel and guest room a very unpleasant experience. We had to open the window to get some fresh air at night, which almost caused me to get sick. Also you can only open the window a bit as there is a mechanism to prevent you from opening the window widely. The water pressure of the shower is also very bad. I guess you get a good breakfast and have to pay a price for the room.
