We didn't have breakfast so can't comment. However, were asked to pay for our stay when we arrived but had already paid so had to provide evidence. The room was very small and not up to spec cleaning wise. I spoke to reception about the size of the room and was told this was what I had booked. I don't know if the hotel was full or not but wasn't given the opportunity to upgrade. There were used coffee pods in the coffee machine, the kettle was dirty, the towel rail was broken and the room could have done with a freshen up paint wise. I had read reviews prior to booking and they were all very good - perhaps we were just unlucky.

During my 5 days here, they had 2 out of 3 elevators broken, making it extremely inconvenient to be able to go from/get to my room on the 16th floor. I also had an important package delivered to the front desk, which, upon check out, they said they were unable to find it. Additionally the pipes in the room continuiously smelled like sewage, a problem which was never resolved druing the whole week.

I get the feeling management doesn't care about the employees... that trickles down to the guests. If it's one staff member, bad apple. If it's most of the staff who really doesn't care about you other than checking you in and out, don't bother anything else in between... they'll just tell you whatever to get you to hopefully stop asking questions

Nice, modern apartment and a great lounge on the fifth floor. Upon arrival in the room, the room was not set up with two separate beds, as requested. Also, there was only one set of towels. Of that is addressed, this is a great base for a visit to London.

Stayed at The Gate for 2 nights and had a lovely stay. The room was spotlessly clean, the facilities were great and it was 5 minutes walk from the station. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to London!
