Warning: This house is not well maintained and the owners will charge you for pre-existing damage. This is a nice house with very shady management. Pls spare yourself the stress of staying here. First of all, the house was filthy and in disrepair. There were 100s of dead bugs on a surface by the stairs, the garage door and opener was broken, keypad finicky, the front gates sometimes closed and sometimes didnât. Additionally, there was sand on the floor upstairs, gross old fluids stuck on the walls and stairs, stains on the pool furniture, and old food on the pool furniture (old brown rice). Our impression was that this is a party house with a lot of wear and tear. The pool was nice and the house was big, so we were honestly going to let all this slide because we are not high maintenance and had a nice time for my 40th still with our small group of family and friends. Here is the crazy part. We had texted the host Saturday that a french door was broken. From the start it would not open, and the handle moved in all different crazy directions. You could even see it all scratched up in the picture I took, like someone had taken tools to it. The owner said "I do not know how that happened, sorry," but now charged us 1,700 from our security deposit! They have 0 proof it was working before us (it wasn't) but VRBO is siding with them anyway, saying itâs the ownerâs decision. Now the owner threatening us if we give an honest review, explains the positive only reviews!
