Huh…

Room not ready after checking. Moved to an “upgraded”room. Basically the same type room, up one floor, but with an aroma generator (no instructions) an air filter (same) and some sort of filter on the shower…no clue what it was. If the room was being renovated, it didn’t show. So many unfinished trim areas, bath window looking into some weird exterior shaft…mirror above toilet…not the sink. Then after checking (9:27pm to be exact) a knock on the door and a staff member asking if I could change the check-in to a five star. Nope. Because it wasn’t.

Very beautiful little place with charming staff. Some minor inconveniences only due to ongoing finishing touches of remodeling, but they were gracious and caring to not let it annoy anyone. We'll definitely stay again one day.

Lumea by the Sea was such a pleasant surprise! It’s not your typical hotel, it feels more like a thoughtfully curated retreat. The design is modern and minimal with a calming aesthetic that instantly makes you feel relaxed and at home. It’s located just a few blocks from the beach and close to great coffee spots, restaurants, and shops, which made exploring Long Beach super easy. Even though it’s in the heart of downtown, it’s tucked away enough to still feel quiet and private. The room was spotless, with great natural light and all the little details that make a stay special — cozy linens, quality toiletries, and even a record player! You can tell they really put love into creating the space. Already planning to come back on my next trip. If you're into boutique vibes and a laid-back experience, this place is a total win.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Lumea by the Sea, and it exceeded all expectations. Tucked away at 63 Lime Ave, this boutique hotel offers a serene and stylish retreat just a short distance from the vibrant downtown area. The room was impeccably clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed, providing a perfect blend of comfort and elegance. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, ensuring that every need was met with a smile. While it's not directly on the beach, the hotel's central location made it easy to explore nearby attractions, restaurants, and the beautiful coastline.
