It was great. Felt like going back in time to the 1920s. Parking was a nightmare though. And it was rough not having air conditioning, but it says it all in the reviews unfortunately I wanted to feel what it was like in the 1920s vs air conditioning, Iâll choose air conditioning next time.
I really enjoyed staying at this apartment while in Long Beach - the space was very clean, the kitchen had ample cookware and the bed was comfortable. The location is great, right next to the bus stop and close to a large grocery store. The host was very accommodating with the check-in time and responded quickly. Would definitely stay here again! The only thing worth noting is that you can hear everything that happens right outside the apartment and the apartment complex is quite active during the day - if folks are having a conversation outside it's as if it's happening in the room. This isn't a problem if you plan to be out of the house during the day, at night it's quite peaceful. Additionally, the curtains in the living room are completely sheer which means there's no privacy during the day and especially at night. The space would be perfect if they got some thicker curtains for the living room.
My stay was just ok. While the condo itself was cute/quaint and I loved the big bath tub, the use of a bike, and the proximity to the beach. There was far more that I didnât love.
The area was very noisy (constant people in the courtyard/street and use of a leaf blower in the courtyard for over an hour at 8 one morning). The grass out front wreaked of dog urine. The bedroom windows are giant so opening them for air flow since there is no AC, lets anybody in the courtyard look right into your bed. Besides that, there were no curtains in the kitchen and sheer curtains in the living room. While the non-dark living room curtains are visible in the property images, I was unaware until evening set in that outside people would be able to see straight into the unit when the interior lights are on. There also was no toilet seat which was a nuisance due to limited counter space. Also in the bathroom, the floor mats hadnât been cleaned (the white portions were brown tinted). Lastly, the bed frame was cheap and creaky and the couch fabric was scratchy.
I would have just given this an average rating, especially since the owner was very communicative before/during my stay. However, 3 days after check out, the owner tried to charge me for additional cleaning and stained bedding in the couch, even though the bedding was dirty when I arrived and I found a cockroach during my stay. After working with VRBO customer service, they encouraged I leave a full and honest review.
Thanks to Jerome for being so responsive before and during my stay. Great location to access great restaurants downtown, the beach and Convention Center.
This property was nice and in close proximity to the convention center where my conference was located. It is the first unit off the street which is convenient. It wasn't noisy even on the weekend. Definitely had beach vibes even though it isn't a beachfront property. Overall it was a nice place and I'd stay again the next time I visit Long Beach.
My first time in the area. Moderately quiet and fairly busy. Public parking is free but as a head's up, spaces to park the car are easier to find in the morning as opposed to the evening. One could try the park nearby and from the location of the suite, it's a 15-20 min walk (Thursdays the street sweeper comes between 10am-12pm) or a 5 min ride on a public electric scooter (ex. Lime).
I found the suite to be very nice. It's right there as soon as you get through the main gate. It's great for two people really. The heater in the living room has a nice decorative touch and the heater in the bedroom kept the space warm. The couch, television, wifi, ceiling fan is enough to satisfy my minimalist needs. The curtains are a nice touch since the windows are tall and they're good for letting the light in during the day while maintaining some privacy.
The kitchen has enough to accommodate the essential needs. Happy to find the sponge was clean and the soap was effective to clean the dishes with. Lighters for candles was a great addition in the kitchen drawer since I forgot to pack one. There's a little drip coffee maker that really makes a good serving for two. I don't use cream and sugar though, I'm grateful it was there anyway.
My favorite part about the suite aside from the bedroom is the bathroom. Hot water comes out quickly. If possible, staying there a second time is very foreseeable in the future. big thanks to J & A
