Our 1-week stay at this Cupecoy Beach villa was enjoyable, though itâs not without flaws. The condo is pleasant but shows signs of neglected upkeep. One bathroomâs flooring is water-damaged from a slow-draining shower that floods; its showerhead needs replacingâonly the hand sprayer works decently. The toilet runs constantly if you use the small flush. Another shower oddly drains into a vent above the front entrance. We loved the patio and kept the sliders open the entire time. The pool was pristineâwe loved itâand the main area stayed cool without AC, a nice touch. Stacey was fantastic. The resort feels worn, but we had a tasty BBQ there the first night with solid service and happy hour 2 for 1âs. There were a lot of older couples so our teen-filled family didnât linger. The condo had beach chairs, towels, dish soap, dishwasher tabs, and trash bags. The kitchen was decently stocked, minus hand towels or rags. The beach below has nudityâeasy to ignoreâand stunning views with wave sounds, but it would be tough for anyone with mobility issues. The resort store surprised us with good stock and fair prices. We walked to Baguettelle in Jordan Village (a must-try!) and shopped at Carrefour Express in Cupecoy Village. WiFi was strong and my Airalo Island Hopper eSIM worked well off WiFi. Overall the unit was comfortable and in a quiet part of the island. Iâd return despite the upkeep quirksâthis might be the best unit here. Know what youâre getting into, and itâs still a great spot.
Villa is very nice and you cannot beat the view and proximity to the water. The unit itself is two stories with a small pool built into the first floor patio/deck and then two bedrooms that also have access to outdoor balconies. We only used the pool briefly as its not heated and was just a bit too chilly for us. Unit has a decent kitchen with many of the amenities you would expect - filter coffee maker and Nespresso machine. There is also a downstairs laundry room with washer, dryer and toilet. Plenty of space downstairs with a decent size family room and breakfast table. Bedrooms are decent size with comfortable beds and ample closet space. Bathrooms are nice - showers a little funky but decent. Overall, we like the villa and would recommend it.Villa is part of the Saphire beach club - which is very dated and a lot to be desired. Access to the parking is gated and requires a key. Key didn't work several times which then means a trip to the front desk. Minor inconvenience but still a pain. You are walking distance to a couple small markets and some restaurants (just ok food). Really need a car or some mode of transportation. Depending on time of year and time of day, traffic can be horrendous so just a heads up.
Enjoyed our week at the property with a great view. Stacey, the Property Manager provided excellent service. Neighborhood had grocery store and restaurants in walking distance
Disappointing..poorly maintainedâŠsome examples, nite oneâŠshower drain clogged with sand ( we repaired ourselves and manager Stacey replied âthanks for the updateâ) short cheap discolored bed sheets exposing plastic mattress covers during the night, laundry room faucet literally falling off, the handheld shower head in one of the bathrooms was broken off, broken window hinge in bathroom. Lamps, clock and a/c control without lightbulbs/batteries and no spares in unit, some sliding doors inoperable, wood slat floors broken and dangerous as mentioned in other reviews ..the maid was supposed to come tues or wed..was no show until Friday after we complained ..we left SaturdayâŠ.should have been great⊠was just ok..would not return ..
Deceptive ad no downstairs AC pool not kept up and nasty.
Words can't quite capture our disappointment. The pics are great the unit is not. Many items like flooring and faucets were in disrepair. Parking is dark and the pool does not filter 24/7 like in the USA so the water is dirty and slimy. We dared not enter it for fear of water born diseases.
We Love our stay! Came to relax and enjoy the island. The villa was extremely clean and the views were INCREDIBLE the reviews and description did not did that justice. It was very convenient. Easy access to the hotel and lovely easy access to the beach. The lowlands area was lovely and there were restaurants to walk to. We really enjoyed having a car so that we could explore other parts of the island and enjoy other restaurants, beach clubs, etc. 100% Recommend, staying here we had a wonderful time.
Please book. You wonât be disappointed. The villa is extremely private and safe with an incredible and indescribable view, yet we really werenât far from anything (ie amazing beaches, well stocked grocery stores). It has been nicely updated and has all the âextrasâ. The nearby beaches like Mullet Bay and Simpson Bay were our favorites. The organic grocery store is a short walk away and very well stocked and well priced with fresh meats, produce, and liquor). Many restaurants were closed for low/hurricane season, but head to Simpson Bay Resort, and you will find quite a few open and delicious restaurants. Also, make the trip to Emilioâs for a historic and quaint dining experience. Definitely rent a car as you will need it to explore the rest of the island. Thank you for an amazing anniversary experience.
The property was exactly what we were looking for. A place near everything we wanted to do (20-30 min drive at most) and private enough we could spend time together away from the more bustling parts of the island. The host was responsive and manage the check in and out process easy
We had a very nice time here at Sapphire Beach villa. It is on same property as the hotel, but under different ownership. We were able to enjoy the amenities of the beach club. They have a very nice pool and a store on the property.
Check in was confusing as I didnât get communication on what to do, so I reached out to the owner that had me call Stacie. She had me just contact her when our flight arrived. Unfortunately, delta screwed us and we arrived a day late. My phone was not working to send messages so I had to go inside the hotel and they called Stacie for me. We were already in a horrible mood from the delay but she arrived as quickly as she could and got us situated.
The villa is beautiful. Amazing views, the pool on the balcony adds the perfect touch. The water is cool and refreshing.
Some updates needed that I did not call about, but just worked through it: there is no air conditioning except for the 2 upstairs bedrooms. When we arrived, the sliding glass doors were all the way open so it was 90 degrees in the Villa. The sliding glass door does not slide on one side. The showers are cool but fixtures are rusting/have mineral buildup all over them. They both also spray the ceiling on one setting and not all settings work. The washing machine gave me a hard time. Quick wash did not want to complete its cycle and a heavy object had to be placed on top of the lid to get it to lock.
Lastly, we had some tiny ants inside. RAID was located and eliminated that issue.
I don't have a lot of room to leave a detailed review but let's just say our experience wasn't great it was only ok. We had many issues including a serious safety concern. My wife tripped over decking boards out in front of the unit within 10 min of arriving and she hurt her hand, shoulder, and ribs. She was sore all week and we were not able to participate in some planned activities because of it. For those of you considering this unit please be careful of the deck boards out front they are falling apart and are a serious safety concern. They have been in that condition for a long time you can tell by looking at them. The resort as mentioned in other reviews is starting to show its age and that is a kind assessment. It looks like they lack the capital or desire to keep it in good shape.
Lots of minor issues with the unit and too many to list in this small review space but I'm sorry when you pay $4K for a week to stay here everything should be in working order and shouldn't have to be fixed while you are there. This is just a lack of oversight and proper maintenance.
The only positive for us was the VIEW it's incredible. We would not return to this unit again we will look elsewhere. This is our first poor experience with a VRBO property.
Great location, host, amenities. I highly recommend staying here with a group of friends, families.... even 2 couples. The room have their own bathroom and balcony that connects the two rooms.
This is an excellent choice.
We stayed here for a week at the end of June and we were very happy with our stay. The view from the balcony with the pool was amazing. The location of the villa was nice and quiet and felt very safe. A well stocked grocery store and a few restaurants are a short drive at Porto Cupecoy. The villa itself was clean and was fairly well stocked with essentials for cooking. Covered parking in front was a plus for the hot days. The property managers were quick to answer and questions or concerns and gave some restaurant recommendations.
Couple of small notes:
- There isnât a ton of lighting on the main floor so it can be dark in the evenings.
- there are rolling blackouts on the island but we would only lose power for a minute or two before the resorts generator would kick on so not a huge deal.
- There is only AC in the two bedrooms but if you left the bedroom doors open during the day you could cool the whole villa without a problem.
- the fridge lost cooling a couple times but mgmt was quick to get someone to come look at it.
Walking in and seeing the ocean was wonderful. Itâs a quiet area and thatâs what we wanted. The place was immaculate and just as described. The beds were comfortable, the shower was awesome. This is a âmust stayâ place. The only negative was no hot water - until we saw the electric panel and noticed 3 switches were off - we flipped them back on and we had plenty of hot water! Stacy was great! Easy in, easy out. Donât miss Loterie Farm and if you have the $$$ - book a private all day sail with Renegades! If youâre looking for a lovely place to stay - book this one!
Beach front property with the sounds of the ocean. Watch boats come and go. Nice swimming area for swimmers. Close location to all restaurants. Nice market steps away. Covered parking. Wonderful vacation property.
Beautiful Villa. Needs some repair with the sliding glass doors not working. Had to lower Hurricane shutters to help keep the downstairs cool. Lower level had no air conditioning.
Upstairs left BR shower head looks nice but sprays up to the ceiling. Fixture needs replacing. Parking great ! Taking care of those 3 issues would lift this to a top property.
This was an extraordinary rental that allowed us to have a great vacation. The unit is quite large with excellent views of the ocean. The beach is nearly private with very few swimmers. Having our own private pool in the unit was fantastic. I highly recommend the unit.
We were extremely happy with the location on the island with much to do within walking distance, The view and overall state of the property were exceptional. Stacey and everyone associated with the resort were extremely helpful throughout our trip. We will definitely be back soon!
