There were 6 of us staying at the house. It's a large house but we found it very cozy. We enjoyed the games in the game room and making S'mores. The host was very responsive and provides good information for happenings in the town.
First trip to Luray on a girls trip to do some hiking. The house was perfect for the 5 of us to stay. Super clean and very spacious. The house was more spacious than the photos show! Walking distance to lots of cool restaurants and places to get drinks. The Chop House next door was delicious. The sandwiches at the West Main Market Beer and Wine Garden were so good! The house was perfect for what we needed, just be sure to bring extra toilet paper, 2 of the bathrooms only had half a roll.
Our family of 7 adults loved this house! Very spacious, a short walk to the quaint movie theater, many shops and restaurants and only a couple miles from the caverns. I am allergic to cats and dogs and the house was dander free. We had fun with the fusball table and some of the board games, and made use of the fully equipped kitchen. Also the hostess is a good communicator and let us in early as there was a major snowstorm approaching.
Our extended family enjoyed a long weekend in sleepy Luray. It was beautiful and the Sterling was great. The property is right off of Main Street, and there is quite a bit of street noise in the rooms in the front of the house. There is also a fire station a few doors down, and that alarm is very loud (went off four times over a four day stay). I would recommend sound machines or ear plugs.
This beautiful home was not only close to the hiking we wanted to do in Shenandoah National Park. It was the perfect home to return to in the evening to rest and relax and get ready for the next day.
The place is really lovely - big and open, with enough room for several adults and several more children. The kitchen is a particular highlight, it's a wonderful space with everything you could need to cook yourself if you wanted to. One little note is that the house is very close to both the fire house and the railroad tracks, in case there are people who are sensitive to those types of noises. Great, convenient stay right near Luray Caverns, too.
House was spotless and exactly as described. There was plenty of room for our family to spread out. Great location and easy to walk to restaurants and shops.
This is such a great location and wonderful space for our family to come together for a family wedding. House was exactly as described but so cute in person. Loved the extra touches of coffee and snacks. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking to be within walking distance to Luray downtown.
We had four generations of family members from 3 states staying together for a niece's wedding. The Sterling provided plenty of room and supplies for us to have a great weekend . We made big family meals, played games, grilled, sat out by the fire pit and on the front porch .The bakery across the street has delicious treats and the beds were super comfortable when we were ready to rest. Would definitely stay again if we had another event in the area.
The home is very comfortable. There are a few areas to socialize as a group (indoor and outdoor) then your bedroom feels private and separate from the group spaces. The large backyard was fun to use. You can walk to restaurants, coffee, bars and stores. Very short drive to Cavern activities and hiking trails. The separate thermostats for downstairs and upstairs are useful. The house uses propane, which impacts the cooking time for large meals with multiple items. We would book again if we find ourselves visiting the area.
location is walking distance to
Great place for a family reunion. The main floor was perfect for our group to play cards, talk, etc. The other unit attached was rented by family so that was a plus.
The property manager was incredibly responsive. She was best I have ever encountered.
Furnished well and very clean.
Highly recommend.
We had a great time staying at the Sterling in Luray. The house was cute with animal decor, very clean, and had a well appointed kitchen. The beds were very comfortable. The two king beds, two queen beds plus the twin beds and 3 clean and bright bathrooms were perfect for our group. We had fun playing games in the game room. It was nice being in town and close to some shops and restaurants. Highly recommend!
What a delightful backdrop to our family adventures in Luray! The two homes (Sterling and Flynn) were spotless, well-stocked, and warmly decorated in a farmhouse motif. They provided the ideal setting to reflect on our explorations of the Luray Caverns, Museum & Heritage Village, Shenandoah Park and rest from our numerous walks and hikes through the village and mountains. From a game of frisbee in the spacious yard to family meals around the large farmhouse table, it felt like home!
Quiet, spacious, and well-stocked house in a convenient location. Luray is a pretty little town, and we enjoyed venturing out to hike in the national forest, and to visit Luray Caverns. We spent most of our time visiting family living nearby, but the well-stocked kitchen certainly would have been capable of producing meals for a crowd. Check-in was easy and host was easy to work with.
This beautiful home was comfortable and was in walking distance to great restaurants, coffee, and the walking/biking path. Very spacious layout and a great house for a large group.
Loved this house and location! The house was very roomy, clean, and had a fully stocked kitchen which can be hard to find. Itâs centrally located in downtown Luray so made it easy to walk to all the shops and restaurants. And the host was very responsive when I had a question. We will definitely be returning!
