Overall a delightful stay. Lovely moutain location...rustic, obviously previous plantings a bit overgrown. Disappointing not to have a dishwasher. Nice selection of books, games, and kitchen supplies. Felt that the charge of 20 per person over 4 was unreasonable given that the 3rd bedroom was not adult friendly. Also tip jar for housekeeper seemed excessive given that a cleaning fee is part of charge. Even with these issues i would visit again. Location was good with access to park an interesting drive.
We loved the unique round home that had everything we needed for our children and babies. It was nice to have kids plates and the pack and play available and our boys loves the stream to play in. The lower level didnt have AC, but was not too bad and the main floor was cooled off with multiple units, and it was hot at around 90 degrees so it was to be expected.
The Round House was exceptionally charming. There was plenty of space for my family (4 adults, 2 kids), and we loved being in the second floor open space to eat, play games, and hang out with the beautiful view of the mountains through the windows. I honestly wish that we had booked more time there because it was such a great vacation rental!
The Round House was great for our family, we really enjoyed our stay! The property was clean, the kitchen had a nice collection of cookware. The kid activities were greatly appreciated!
This location gave me, my wife and newborn the absolute coziest feeling we were hoping for to get out of town for a little while. Host and house manager were very helpful!
The property was absolutely to die for, it was so cozy for the perfect weekend getaway. Only thing is the roads were scarily icy because of the recent snow storm. Other than that no complaints!
We stayed at the Round House as a family to be close the Shenandoah National Park. Our goal was to spend our days hiking and exploring, with nights inside for rest and relaxation. The house did not disappoint. We had 4 in our party and felt we had plenty of room. The outdoors deck was a great place for morning coffee. We used the grill a few times for dinners. The temperatures were in the teens and 20s overnight. We were very comfortable with the cozy house. The town of Luray was nice. We visited the caverns, Food Lion and the Massanutten market. Our most memorable moments were the two hikes Stony Man and Bear Falls where it snowed during both. Very exciting for our Florida kids. Our last night we snow tubed at the Massanutten Resort with freezing temperatures. Good times.
A nice mountain location for views and walks on rural roads, and relaxing with a book or game. A bit dated, but very comfortable for cozy time inside or on the deck. Very close to downtown Luray, and a close enough to Staunton for an easy day trip.
The Round House is snuggly with a wonderful wood burning stove on the first level, a round staircase takes you up a level to a panoramic view of the mountains. Kitchen is well-equipped, rooms are comfortable and the deck is perfect for watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee. Location is great for many different trail heads and the hikes were wonderful. We enjoyed our stay!
Nice quiet setting with a beautiful view. Kitchen was well stocked. Two levels with spiral staircase which was a bit of a challenge for my wife who suffered an ankle injury shortly before our stay.
We booked the Round House for our summer vacation this July and were thrilled with everything about it. The wraparound deck and full windows showing off the most gorgeous views truly took our breath away. It was a wonderful place to kick back and relax, and a great starting point for many of the adventures we embarked upon. It was very easy to get into Shenandoah National Park - just a short drive away, as were the Luray Caverns. We also drove down to Monticello one day, which was an easy trip.
It was lovely to have this space to come home to at the end of the day. We enjoyed hanging out on the comfy furniture and the kids took delight in the games available to play...and thought it was cool to play albums on the record player. But this mom's favorite thing about our stay was being able to enjoy my morning coffee sitting on a rocking chair on the deck, looking up at the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains.
It's not often you get to stay in a round house...I'd highly recommend it!
The roundhouse had a lovely view and outdoor seating/deck from the top floor! The house was very clean, had updated appliances and plenty of room to spread out. It was located within a half hour or so to a central entrance to Shenandoah National Park and downtown Luray/Luray Caverns. We were able to cook meals and enjoy the view and the quiet evenings to relax and unwind.
We enjoyed our week!
