We were lucky to get an early check-in and an upgrade to a suite, which was a nice start. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. Breakfast was extremely subpar — very few decent hot options and overall felt cheap, though the falafel was good. We tried dessert at the Italian restaurant (a tiramisu), and it was the worst tiramisu we’ve ever had — frozen and crystallized inside. The room was outdated, and the AC didn’t work properly. Despite mentioning it twice, it was never fixed. We also requested robes, a fan, and other items that were never delivered. One morning we asked for the room to be turned early, and it never was. Later, when we ran out of toilet paper, we asked the manager in the lobby to send some up — he told us we had to call the front desk ourselves. Again, not five-star service. At checkout, when I mentioned our stay was disappointing, the front desk clerk simply said “okay” and “goodbye.” That summed up the experience perfectly. This is not a 5-star hotel — maybe a 3-star at best. The service and attention to guest needs need serious improvement before it can live up to its rating.

The room was clean , old fashioned. Bathroom was clean . The breakfast was awesome. But the restaurant at the hotel didn't have good vegetarian options.

I did not use the pool or the spa or get a massage but PRO: * Room: I was moved up to the sixth floor, king bed extremely clean, beautiful room with a window of the Nile and a balcony of the street. The room came with a small refrigerator that was a bit larger than most and a hot pot, instant coffee and tea provided. * Staff: The receptionist, security, luggage assistance we're all extremely friendly provided a map and gave good information on what I needed. There were assistants that came three times to clean, offer amenities, and water each day if needed. * Stores in the area: thank God there was a pharmacy that provided abdomen medicine and others provided water, snacks, sparkling water etc and a couple of shops that provided trinkets and memorabilia all within 1 to 2 minutes walking. CON: * Room: The room/sweet had a large bathtub but a extremely small stand-in shower with shower heads on top, middle and bottom. The room did not come with a microwave. There were 5 TV stations that spoke English, BBC, and four others. * Room service: hotel provided room service at an additional $30 charge and examine the food before paying (The egg rolls were mushy and cold)

The hotel was amazing. The staff super friendly and helpful. Eating at the pool are by the Nile was great. The sunsets were expectacular. The hotel is walking distance from Luxor Temple.

The staff at Sonesta St. George gets 5 stars! Special thanks to Clara with her help with our transportation needs even before check in and to Mr. Hany for the great welcome at check in. The room decor is a too ornate for our taste, but it was quiet with good sound proofing and provided us with good nights sleep with our comfortable bed.

This properties, absolutely beautiful, stunning the view of the now is breathtaking. The staff is amazing and goes up and beyond with their services. They’re friendly, caring indicated to their customers with a smile all the time. I recommend this hotel to anyone that’s going to Luxor plus is a 20 minute ride from the airport.
