I was kind of frustrated that they changed my reservation from 2 queen beds to a king without saying anything before hand. I realize it is the end of the season and they were booked but i would think they would keep you with what you reserved before "upgrading" you without checking first. That being said, the property and room is amazing and in a great location.

The hotel and our room was beautiful, spacious and clean. We loved the balcony view of the street. It was so fun and relaxing to see/hear the horses going up and down the street. There wasn't breakfast provided, but we did have dinner at the Winchester, downstairs, and it was very good! I loved that they showed old black n white movies over the bar. It was very charming.

The hotel called just before check-in to say they were giving me a complimentary room upgrade. I don’t know what my original room looked like but this one is new, clean, comfortable and has a water view. Breakfast was not provided and the room price was higher than I usually spend, but then prices on the island’s restaurants are high, too. If I have any advice to give it’s that be mindful of the season’s end toward late October; the diminished crowds is nice but the island gives off a ghost town air as the shops shut down for winter. But, of course, the fudge shops are all open!

Our stay was nothing short of extraordinary! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles, genuine hospitality, and that timeless island charm that makes Mackinac so special. The hotel itself is stunning — beautifully maintained, with a perfect blend of historic elegance and modern comfort. Our room was spotless, cozy,horse-drawn carriages passing by. The attention to detail was evident everywhere, from the crisp linens to the great anniversary gift and the thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home.

Great location right on the water next to ferry terminal. We stayed in the south building. Comfortable, clean, spacious room looking over the water. Located on Main Street, so walkable to shops & restaurants. Bikes available to rent at a discount. Highly recommend!
