My husband and I went to Whistler over Christmas with six young adults ( 25-30 ) ( our children ) and my mother (81). We were already excited to stay at Compass Point just from the pictures, but the house in living color is so much more, everyone was tickled pink, and there was ample room for all of us. The house is beautifully decorated, the furniture in all rooms is very comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked, the bathrooms have wonderful heated floors, the outside spa stays 104 degrees 24/7 ( you just take the top off and pop in ! ), the inside and outside wood burning fireplaces are both lovely, the master bedroom is definitely a room you may have to fight over if you are going with friends, and the mudroom with cubbies just inside the garage door is a perfect place to take off boots, coats, gloves, etc...so water, snow or dirt is not tracked through the house. I loved the smart control for the whole house sound system as well as the downstairs lighting. It was a perfect way to relax after a big day in the snow. Plus all other floors have dimmers on the lights, which is nice. The master fireplace and lower level fireplace also offer a calming ambience. The house is private and very walkable to the village; however, because of the amount of snow and some ice, it was difficult for my mother. We rented a car with snow tires ( we could not have gotten around without the snow tires since we had tons of snow while there ), and that was a good way to get people around. There are also taxis you can call along with a bus that comes right by the house on a regular schedule and goes all around the village for $2.50 CAD. Right down the road is Nester's Market, a wine/beverage shop and a pharmacy. All are small but offer really great product. The homeowner and the property manager are wonderful to work with and easy to reach. I've never seen so many sad faces as those on the day we had to pack up to leave our home away from home ! Alison, thank you for sharing with us and best in 2017 !
