We had a lovely stay and wish we could have stayed longer:) Such a unique property steeped with history and our host Younger Bob is wonderful with genuine hospitality and passion for this place - itâs past- and their guests-Thank you!
Absolutely brilliant! Our room was comfortable and charming. The overall property is lovely and Rob our host couldnât have been more helpful, breakfast was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend it to anyone. Thank you Rob.
Excellent hosts, great hospitality, very good breakfast. Creaking floors and different water taps for hot and cold in the shower as well as in the sink I would not expect at this price level.
Unrivalled mix of location, views, service&history
We stayed for two nights and chose the house because of its close proximity (less than 10 mins walk) to the departure point for the Doubtful Sound day trip. But there is much much more to the house than this - it is one of the most amazing places we have ever stayed in. Firstly, the house itself and views from the house/gardens are stunning - we woke up to a view of a beautiful rainbow over green hills on the left and snow topped mountains in front. Secondly, Robert was the perfect host - going out of his way to give us additional information and help us out with anything and everything. And thirdly, the house has so much character and history - as does the host and his family âŠ. we will leave it to them to share the stories with you and not spoil the surprise.
We loved our stay at Murrell's! Such a lovely countryside setting with a "grand view" indeed! Bob, the host, is exceptional and welcoming and taught us about the history of the property. We enjoyed our cup of tea and beer on the front porch and went a lovely walk from Murrell's down to the beach the first night. Room was spacious and bed was very comfortable. A short drive to Te Anau. Tasty breakfast in a lovely dining room setting. We checked out early after our second night to get to the Doubtful Sound cruise and Murrell's is literally right by the parking location to the cruise. We stayed 3 weeks in NZ and Murrell's was one of our most favourite places to stay!
