Really struggling to see how this is a 5 star hotel. The check in experience was worse than a 2 star hotel, was welcomed with attitude and just given a room key, no welcoming and explanation of any of the facilities or timing for the hotel. I was with my 2yo daughter and my pregnant wife, they didn't even tell us which way the lifts are and no porter help with our luggage. The rooms are very dated, the TV makes it feel like a teenagers bedroom just frown on top of a drawer in the corner. The fridge was so loud, the wardrobe hinges squeak and the toilet seat was cracked.
On the bright side the spa was amazing, the gym was average (a bit better than most hotel gyms), the reception areas do smell very nice and the bed is very comfortable. The soap and shampoo also smelt amazing.
The location is good but I think you can have a more pleasant stay at other nearby hotels for better value. I'm just struggling to see what makes it 5 star.
