Great home in the middle of it all

Home was just as advertised. Kitchen well stocked. Beds comfortable. Plenty of space for all. Pool lovey. Beach just down the street. Great location to parks, beaches and restaurants. Some days construction was noisy but we headed to beach on those days.

Amazing views and great location

The property was the perfect location! So close to the beach, right on a canal (saw manatees from the porch/pool!!!), and incredible unobstructed water views. The set up was a little difficult with several younger children because three of the sleeping areas had direct access to the balcony and pool. The great room, kitchen, balcony, and pool were perfect for hanging out together (7 in our group) and we never felt crowded. There were several comfy areas to lounge outside in sun and shade. We had the hardest time figuring out which light switches worked which lights or fans... Even by the end of the trip we hadn't figured it out. The management company was extremely responsive and even brought a replacement blender and changed out a light bulb in the shower the same day I reached out!

We did have trouble with the smell at first
 but actually got used to it. The garbage cans were all full, so it was difficult to put our trash out. However, we called Vacasa and they got it taken care of promptly. The blender leaked. Overall we enjoyed our stay though.

Beautiful Views Great Home/ Must read

This house is much nicer in person!! The upstairs is perfect for entertaining and the views of the water are amazing! Sunrise every day and direct oceanview from inside and on the huge covered balcony! Lots of room to spread out upstairs and down, in the house and out of the house. The boat dock definitely needs attention. But once you come up with a system it gets easier. DO NOT bring your boat to the dock until you read the map of the channel located in the house otherwise you will hit bottom and possibly ruin your boat or get hurt!! On the first day we hit a palm tree under water before realizing there is only one way in and out due to the tides and water levels. The dock and waterway for your boat smells like sulphur and looks brown, not so appealing. The dock area itself is good at high tide but not when the tide is low, your boat goes under the dock until the water rises and can scratch the boat or mess it up when it rises. Owner needs to put another peice of wood and bumbers for low tide. We roped our boat in a way so it would not go underneath or hit the dock by tying to the palm tree there and angling our rope. Also the wood at the dock was painted black and gets on your feet and all over your boat. It washes off okay but it's definitely a nuisance. Just cover it with a rug or something the entire time. As far as the outdoor grill, it is shot and a fire hazard. It just burns all the old spilled oils at the bottom and is literally on fire. So if you like chargrilled food, your good to go. There are 2 outdoor cameras, once facing the back pool/boat area which makes sense to protect any claims against the owner's boat but the other is on the upstairs porch facing inward. Its very uncomfortable when that's more of your living space....so just a heads up. Lastly, the outside ceiling fan is about ready to fall off and I reported it but they didn't fix it. The pool service was terrible for the first couple weeks and the water was nasty, we complained several times until finally they actually cleaned it and then it was great. Overall the place was super nice and enjoyable. We got used to the channel and were careful during low tide. We already brought extra toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, laundry soap, etc since we read the other reviews about supplies being scarce. So that solved that problem. Bring some hot pads, or use the hand towels. You will love the home overall and I would stay again. With some tweaks could be closer to perfect

If your boat is a canoe & you have no sense of smell, this is a good house

The house itself is perfect for 2 families. The master bedroom is large and the floor plan is large and open, with a separate small living area downstairs. However, the stench of the seaweed in the canal was nauseating and made it impossible to enjoy the beautiful ocean views from the amazing wrap around porch. The stench would permeate the house as soon as a door opened. We had to purchase glade plug-ins and room spray just to make the house tolerable to live in for a week. One morning I tried to enjoy my coffee outside and literally had to come in to vomit. I know this is not the owner’s or company’s fault, but something that needs to be known before purchasing. The canal is shallow water and was only navigatable during high tide. Even during high tide it was sketchy. We had a 21 foot boat. Boating time was limited to tides which was highly disappointing. The canal is brown and inhabitable to marine life, so don’t expect to fish off your dock. The pool bottom was super rough and made our feet bleed. Upon arrival there was a thick film on top of the pool and we were unable to swim the first day. We addressed this with management company upon arrival and they sent someone to clean the next day. The location is super close to sombrero beach which is a nice beach and park to bring the kids to. Close to both Publix and Winn-Dixie. Plenty of room for parking. The house itself was a nice house, but not worth the money due to the shallow water canal and the outside smell. Sadly the beautiful ocean view won’t last long due to construction across the street.

Great Home very spacious and comfortable Property management was terrible Had a few issues with checking in the door lock was inop the whole stay, master shower would not drain and toilet was loose.. Ice machine was inop I. Refrigerator. No response from property management to address issues The waster way access was very shallow and full of debris thus sb disclosed to renters

Great house with poor canal access to ocean

The house is awesome. 5/5 stars, Clean and nice, great layout for multiple families traveling together. The pool was rough and scrapped our young kids, they had lots of cuts. The canal was so shallow that a 20 foot pioneer Boat was hitting bottom at low tide, not a great option for people who want to boat anytime of day since you have to catch high tide to go out.

Awesome vacation house

Great house! Great space for a family of 5, felt like we could have fit a couple more. Awesome pool. Great kitchen. 1 mile to two grocery stores. Super close to the beach. Sketchy and shallow entrance to canal by boat if you rent one, but it’s doable at low tide with a smaller center console. Our first trip to Keys and were not disappointed!

Wonderful Getaway

The pictures didn't do the size of the property justice. Home was clean and well taken care of. The amenities - as far as supplies were lack luster. We ended up spending more than anticipated on routine household supplies - trash-bags, paper towels, condiments... the house came with very minimal toilet paper and salt and pepper with a few "pods" for dishes and laundry - but only enough for a day or two. There are no pool toys, but beach towels present. No cooler. Other than that, we have no complaints and would come back in a heart beat - we just wish we would have known the limited supplies. The amount of cooking utensils and pots / pans was fine. The pool was amazing and great for the kids. We rented a boat while visiting and had ample room to park. The neighbors are also really nice :-)

The house has a great location and great space. Definitely not suitable for young children or those that can’t handle stairs. Breathtaking sunrise views over the water! The property manager was contacted about the bed bug issue. Hopefully they take care of it before the next guests arrive.

Marathon vacation

We had a great stay at the house. Nice open dining and living area. Beautiful view of the sunrise from a very large open patio upstairs. Plenty of patio & pool deck room downstairs. Great overall space for a family. Access to small watercraft/kayaks is very difficult from the dock. The jet ski lift is broken. There should be a ladder added on the dock. Overall - very nice place to stay.

Perfect vacation home.

We absolutely love this home. It was laid out perfectly for us. Our 19-year-old daughter and her best friend stayed on the downstairs level which was great for them. We also had a 12-year-old son. The house is big enough where everybody had their own space. The pool was great. It was in the sun until about 2 o’clock and then in the shade for the remainder of the day. This was great for those times that we had gotten too much sun. The outdoor living space is very abundant. We absolutely loved it. I would definitely stay there again.

This was the perfect house for our fammily trip. A quite neighborhood with everything we needed from the kitchen to the pool deck and verandas looking out onto an unobstucted view of the ocean. Very clean. The pool was always at the right temperature to refresh after our days activites.

restful and quiet neighborhood

Me and my husband enjoyed our stay in Marathon. However, I am only giving 4stars to this property. Overall the house and pool were clean. we had to figure a lot of things out ourself as there was no “guest handbook” anywhere. No lights on main deck and very little on pool deck so it was hard to enjoy the evening much less eat outside at night. No propane in grill, no extra amenities at all compared to other rentals. Very little indoor lighting as well. The pool area is entirely in the shade by 3:30 and they leave you with absolutely no extra paper towels or tp. Oh, construction happening in two, maybe 3 lots across from house, so the view won’t last much longer. I tell this only because it is the second time we rented a property and no one mentioned construction in either instance, just not what we want to listen to on vacay. Again, we had an overall nice stay, just not what we are used to in a rental.

This is a great location in Marathon with a beautiful ocean view. It had everything we needed and it was centrally located so easy to run and pick up anything we forgot. But we rarely left, it was just the place we needed to relax and get away.

The heated pool was a vacation saver

The house was large and roomy for eight adults. Loved all the outdoor living areas and used the heated pool almost daily especially the days the weather cooled down. We fished the channel behind the house and grilled our catch. We would stay here again.

Perfect Pandemic Retreat

We spent three weeks at the house and it was everything we had hoped for. Because of the pandemic we were looking for a private getaway from the cold where we could feel safe. We received the lock box information the morning of arrival and checked in with no issues. The house is updated and very clean with very comfortable furniture. The bed in the master is incredibly comfortable. Since it was just the 2 of us, we cannot report on the other beds. A fully equipped kitchen made it easy for us to cook like we were at home. The large sliding glass doors across the living room and master bedroom gives a lovely indoor/outdoor living feel. The outdoor area is quite lovely with ample seating off the living room as well as on the pool level. The landscaping is lush and affords privacy from the house next door. We swam in the heated pool at least once a day; more often twice. We had a couple of minor maintenance requests and they were handled promptly, efficiently and safely. It was a short walk to Sombrero Beach from which we could watch the sun set.

Great place, lots of room, pool, nice view

Love the house. Lots of room. Beautiful view and enjoyed the pool. We would stay here again.
