This host is the real deal. We were struggling with the loss of our mother and we found this wonderful place to gather together. Everyone was so comfortable at this beautiful and unique home. They truly thought of everything! The view is stunning and there was so much to do on site from just hanging with family to enjoying a sauna or hot tub. Don't hesitate to book this great spot for your family
Not a great experience. Upon arrival - the place seemed cold. We turned up the thermostat - turned on the extra baseboard heaters and fireplace and contacted the owner. The extra heat sources seemed to be helping. Left and when we came back it was 65 degrees and freezing. Reached out again and was told could get us space heaters but wouldn't be for another 1 1/2 hours. We were thinking about getting a reservation at the hotel across the street. We were told we could go to the house across the driveway and get space heaters in the closet of the upstairs bedroom. Did that and when we plugged them in they tripped the breakers. Couldn't reset the breakers because access to that room was locked. They did finally give us access to that room and we got power back to everything except the bedroom we were staying in. Heat started working through out the night but never got power back to our bedroom the entire stay even with several text messages sent. We left a day early. Asked for a discount and none was given. For the price of this place - updates are needed. The furnishings and decor are definitely dated and worn. The asian beetles were out of control but don't know if that is something that could be controlled other than replacing the sliding screen door with all of the holes in it. We wouldn't stay here again.
Spacious area to gather with family to celebrate mom's 70th birthday. Well stocked. Lots of towels (always seems to be an issue at other VRBOs we have been to).
What a delight to have trains lumbering past on one side of the house, and the river traffic, big barges and their pushers going past on the other side of the house. A beautiful setting, comfortably appointed house, great home base for exploring the beautiful river road and bluffs.
Our 22 year old was killed in an accident in 2021, the grief made my husband the 9th person to be diagnosed with a disease that left him totally disabled. This was our first outing without him and it was hard, but everything was perfect and we had an amazing time with my husband watching the barges go by and my grandson fishing, the casino gave me an outlet I have not had for 3 years. This was part of our healing process with my other two amazing adult children and my grandson and it was totally relaxing with the grief baggage that we carry. Thank you so much for the amazing home from home with all the amenities of home! We appreciate you!
