An old farmhouse which has been renovated but retains many old features and period furniture. Very quiet rural location, nearest villages are tiny (check for market days and opening hours) so 20 minutes to main groceries and if you are to eat out it will need some planning. 12m pool excellent, extensive lawned garden with natural shade, woodland on one side with fields on the other three. Highly recommended but read the VRBO detail. The rooms upstairs are interconnected: stairsmezzanine with shower off twindoubledoubleexternal stair to garden. The downstairs double was very spaciousThe kitchen was tight prepping for 4 adults. We had a fabulous quiet holiday, our two toddlers loved the pool and garden. If it had been wet there is a huge lounge, also a large dining table to sit round. We had plenty of space in our 2 cars so took a camping fridge which was ideal for extra drinks cooling. Host was kind and attentive and responded quickly to questions.
The property is situated in rural France north of Tours. It is well maintained old french farm that breaths older times. Although the views over the slightly hilly countryside are wide and stunning, situated behind small wooded area provides plenty of privacy. Coming from a big city, the nights were completely quiet. The ground is failey large and there was a very nice large pool. The owners were very friendly at check in and I will certainly consider to come back or recommend to friends.
We have just come back from a wonderful week at Cottage au Millieu. This is clearly a very much loved second home in the middle of glorious countryside. It has beautiful gardens overlooking fields as far as the eye can see with plenty of loungers and relaxing chairs to make the most of it.
The swimming pool is fantastic and heated with toys and floats and even had yoga mats which we made good use of.
The house is very well equipped with all the kitchen equipment you would need. Although the kitchen itself is well equipped is quite small and not much work surface area for preparing food.
The main living room is huge with comfortable armchairs and games table.
The downstairs bedroom which used to be a study is large with direct access to the garden.
The upstairs bedrooms are a good size but are all linked so you have to go through each room to get to the other which might make it difficult if it wasn't family.
The nearest supermarket is 13 kilometres away.
The house provides bicycles which we made good use of as the roads around are very quiet and the area is quite flat.
We - who are a multi generational family had a wonderful time enjoying all the beauty and the lovely flower filled garden and especially the lovely swimming pool. We enjoyed good trips to Amboise and Tours and to local lakes for paddle boarding, swimming and cycling round.
