This property was perfect for our family gathering ! The beautiful home was very spacious for all 11 of us.It was very well kept, clean and we all enjoyed the cozy fireplaces, firepit as well as pool and ping pong games. We felt fortunate to have found this property and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Initially, I had not planned to write a review due to the state of the house being influenced by events beyond the owners control but their response to our stay has been frustrating. Here is a copy of what I sent to the rental agency.Hey, I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving. There were several issues with the house that you need to know about. 1- the smell on the basement level. It is bad and probably the result of the pipes that burst the weekend before we came. It was bad enough that people move to sofas and the two couples that slept downstairs did so with blankets and open windows. 2- the sheets on the downstairs king bed have been used so much they have pilled. Need to be thrown out. 3- the floor on the lower level was sticky 4- the downstairs toilet (in the half bath) will not fill the water in the tank unless you manually push the ball down 5- several lamps placed where there was no outlet to plug in and several lamps without the knob to turn them on 6- there is a soiled set cushion that was there when we arrived- we forgot to get it in the trash, it is in the front porch 7- the door to œ bath on the main floor is coming apart, the front side gets caught on the frame and start to pull off.8- we were able to get the upstairs gas fireplace going, but it went off after about an hour and unable to restart (propane tank empty?) 9- handles missing on cabinets 10- FYI no kitchen supplies downstairs. The house is in need of major TLC.
The property was great to host my full family to celebrate my mom's 85th birthday. Plenty of room for everybody to get together, and room to get away when needed. We did have minor plumbing issue, but when it was reported, someone came out right away to take care of it. The second kitchen on the lower level is a plus. Having family/living rooms on each floor was nice.
We had fun at this home, all 11 of us. Very comfy beds and furniture. Great kitchen. We cooked a lot since there were so many of us. House close to grocery store which was nice. Only 15-20 minutes to Biltmore and Asheville. Lots of firewood for sitting outside at night around the fire pit. Also plenty of paper products in house. Pots and pans could stand replacing, we were glad we had brought a big griddle along. Dryer didnât work during our stay. Also, coffee carafe was broken so we bought a new one and left it there. Again great house but painting and upkeep of this beautiful home would make it a 5 star.
Wonderful property with amenities like a keurig, pots and pans, plenty of dishes and mugs, shampoo and conditioner, etc! The hot tub was excellent, plenty of wood for the fire pit. Plenty of towels and blankets for colder nights.
Mar Hills has a quaint downtown area with the friendliest people youâll ever meet (only 1 mile away from the house). We found a fantastic bakery, delicious Italian, ice creamery, and more!
Property manager checked in with us and tried their best to make our stay a comfortable one. We will definitely be back.
Me and several of my friends stayed here for my birthday and had a great weekend. The home has plenty of space for lots of activities. I loved that there was more than one "living room" so that we could spread out. The mountain view from the hot tub was spectacular. The property management company was very responsive to any and all questions. 5/5 would recommend.
We stayed here with 7 adults and 4 kids and just loved it. Plenty of space for everyone, 2 bedrooms on 2nd and 3rd floor and 3 bedrooms in the basement. Hot tub was wonderful, and everything was prepped to perfection.
The house is set up like a 'mother-on-law' suite, the entire basement had 2 full bathrooms and smaller kitchen with sitting area. The upstairs kitchen was well equipped. Had 2 great balconies and great firepit area. Plenty of parking for our 4 cars. Close to grocery store and gas station. Most things (Sliding Rock, Chimney Rock, Downtown Asheville, Biltmore Estate) to do were about 30-60 mins away. Only negative to say would be a house needs a larger table for more to sit together at one time. Although we were afraid of the noise ordinance noted at check in - we met several of the neighbors and they were all very nice and friendly.
This was one of the cleanest Rentals I have stayed in. A lot of very private feeling wings of the home, and we woke up to an incredible sunrise.
As a side note, I left behind a very important family heirloom and the owners went above and beyond to get it back to me in Cleveland, Ohio.
We hope to get back there soon.
Beautiful home. Well appointed. Comfortable & great for our family. We had snow so that made it even better! Only issue was the code to unlock the door did not work & it took about 45 mins to get help but other than that, the weekend was great.
