Beautiful family room in the heart of Matera. Very clean room, comfortable beds and coffee machine. Bathroom was spotless, modern and had complimentary toiletries. Stunning view of Matera from terrace where you can relax.
We booked the Grotta Room for only 1 night. It was spectacular. Check-in was smooth. I loved the location. It was a great value. Outdoor breakfast with a view was a highlight.
A little tricky to locate as so many nooks & crannies in beautiful Matera, but once we found it & got in it was wonderful. The room is beautifully clean & well furnished & we slept so well. Claudia was a wonderful hostess at breakfast and so friendly. Highly recommended.
Giovanni was an excellent host and very helpful.
The video sent to us prior to arrival showing how to find our room was so good and precise.
Our room was clean and spacious, with tea and coffee facilities.
The private terrace and breakfast provided was plentiful and the staff were so friendly.
Would definitely recommend this property, very quiet but only a few minutes walk to the busy streets of Matera.
Many happy memories made.
Thank you.
We had a wonderful stay at La Corte Vetere! The location is stunning and full of characterâthe view from the property is breathtaking, offering a truly unique experience in the heart of Matera. Claudio was an exceptional host: warm, helpful, and always available whenever we needed anything. The property was clean, comfortable, and full of charm. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Matera!
Great location, friendly staff, well suited room - the breakfast is a great value add. Hard to find if you are travelling at night follow the hosts instructions but look out for the sign atop the stairs.
We could give 1000 stars if possible! We had a wonderful stay at La Corte Vetere! The location is beautiful and full of character, offering a unique experience in the heart of Matera. Claudio was an exceptional hostâwelcoming, helpful, and always available for anything we needed. The property was clean, comfortable, and full of charm. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Matera!
It is comfortable and clean, and it complies with a reasonable standard. The service was good and it is very well located, with a nice view and relatively near the parking availbale.
Wonderful hotel and staff. Martha met us and assisted to get to the room . She also sent a video that was helpful. Room was spectacular and location was amazing. Breakfast was lovely . Hotel was close to all attractions. Patio was lovely for your own personal happy hour . Train station access as well to connect to other destinations .
Norica, was a very gracious and helpful host ⊠the facilities are great and the breakfast was supplied every day which was a great way to start the day. The location is perfect and only a short walk and a few stairs to one of the main piazzaâs ⊠plenty of dining and drink options with only a short walk to other piazzaâs. Access to the sassiâs are also easy and close. Weâd highly recommend a guided walking tour to get the history from an expert. We will be back next visit to Italy :)
A wonderful hotel in the Sassi area of Matera. We had a superb room and admired the views from our window. We unfortunately had a very late check in due to fkight delays and this wasnt a problem. Cant recommended this traditional and quaint hotel enough. Thank you
Unique stay in the Sassi (old town) of Matera. The accommodation is in a cave type room (no windows), it can also be quite damp. The location is fantastic and very easy to find with the hosts instruction. There is no laundry at this location, all though it was advertised.
It was a beautiful place and we were quite comfortable.
Our room was inside the main building and the rooms outside looked more private.
No explanations of laundry facility and we couldnât wash our clothes, our room had nowhere to dry or hang. Modern shower, good bathroom, fast internet. The breakfast was simple: fresh pastry, machine coffee, packed fruit juice, yogurt.
We had a lovely stay, Marta provided us with excellent information. We were lucky to have an upgrade and was given the studio room. It was spacious with authentic cave room experience. The closest and cheapest pay parking is approx. 11 mins. walk. I strongly encourage travelling light as you will be dragging your suitcases in uneven surfaces. Breakfast is ok, enough to give you energy to start your day. The host will make you a nice Italian coffee. The room is clean, strategically located near amazing restaurants and popular sites, with lovely owners, so if this is what you need, then you are in the right place.
Room was well appointed, comfortable, very clean (5 person room). Great location - easy access to best places. Excellent recommendations for birthday dinner night life from host. The breakfast was simple (pastries, juice, yogurt, espresso ) - fresh fruit / variation of pastry would have been nice. Breakfast is outside on terrace with great views. Bathroom is modern with nice towels. Good wifi. Things to know: 1) Hard to find at night couldnât see âLe Corteâ sign at top of stairs (sign needs lighting at night and a separate sign by the alleyway directing guests up the final set of stairs to main house (host sent instructional video but couldnât download and we spent 1/2 hour in alleyway below unit during an already late arrival with lots of luggage not knowing where to go); 2) Public parking suggested by the host worked well and is secure. Would be helpful for host to send public parking address / website link to guests in advance as my gps did not get us to the correct spot at first. 3) Walk from public parking with luggage is ~10 minutes (can roll luggage through square) but gps sent us the long way to the square when there was a much easier way. Would be better and more helpful if the host provided a walking map from the public parking to the square. 4) Once through the square requires going down several sets of stairs and uneven alleyway and you must carry your luggage 5) No air conditioning or a fan. More air circulation needed to be comfortable.
