Le Redwood Chalet-rez-de-chaussĂ©e est une maison plus rĂ©cente, fabriquĂ©e Ă  la main avec des porches avant accueillants et couverts, des boiseries intĂ©rieures personnalisĂ©es, du parquet et du carrelage et de grandes fenĂȘtres tout au long de la piĂšce donnant l'impression de faire partie de la forĂȘt de sĂ©quoias environnante et ensoleillĂ©e . Ce 2 chambres / 1 salle de bain autonome (1-4 + pers.) Comprend des lits queen-size, une cuisine entiĂšrement Ă©quipĂ©e, des vues et de l'intimitĂ©. Comprend Ă©galement une grande pelouse et un espace extĂ©rieur pour le badminton, les bains de soleil et le barbecue. Et un HOT TUB. Beautiful setting. Easy to find and nice accommodations. Didn't use the hot tub but if that's your thing, it's nice to have. Be aware that you have to sign up for a time because it's shared with other people staying on the property. I do wish I had booked the top chalet as the activity of the folks upstairs was pretty loud downstairs and woke us up really early in the morning. It was peaceful though when they weren't around.

Overall, everything was amazing! Jeffrey was very pleasant and the accomodations were cozy yet spacious. The jacuzzi in the woods was the best part. It was great to soak amongst the trees and literally just up the little hill to the house. We knew going in that there were going to be people upstairs, it didn't really bother us but we were aware of them. The house is an amazing dark wood, inside and out, which can lead to some creaking. That's just what happens in the forest. It Would Not prevent us from staying again! Great location. Quiet forest setting with all the luxury of a fully functional home. Did I mention the jacuzzi!?!

Hot tub in the redwoods?! Hell, yeah!

Beautiful hiking trails near by, literally the perfect location to explore this beautiful part of California. And to have a hot tub nestled in the redwoods to soak after all that exploring, yes!!!And the beds were so cozy. Such a simple pleasure but often these rentals strike out here. These beds and linens were so comfortable.

Beautiful & Peaceful stay- NOT PRIVATE

Great place to stay located near Arcata. Many things to do in reasonable driving distance. My favorite area is the kitchen, with a great large table. Living room area very comfortable! Yard was serene and beautiful like in the pictures. Beds were OK, but they need a bit of updating. The unit as a whole needs some attention. Broken window in kitchen, regular wear noted throughout the unit. Hot tub was very satisfactory after the first night. It was a little cool the first night. Bathroom adequate. I would recommend to bring your own towels. We were given 4 towels for 3 people for 5 night stay. We appreciated the property in all its beauty. However, we did feel somewhat uncomfortable during our stay because the worker seemed to be on the property every morning. The shared laundry area was directly outside our bedroom. We would have preferred a bit more privacy during our visit. While we understand they need to check on the property and work, it seemed invasive during our vacation. We hope this feedback is helpful for future guests and for the host as they continue to offer their space. Make note it is a shared unit and shared hot tub( with sign up sheet) although we had no problems in that aspect as we seemed to have the place to ourselves.

Secluded but not isolated

The chalet is off the main road and in a forest. Yet it was easy to reach and close to good sights and eateries. The house was clean and nicely furnished. The host's instructions were posted in multiple places and easy to understand. Since the site can host more than one family or group, we weren't alone and we could hear the upstairs family walking around and using the hot tub at night. It's good to be aware that you're sharing the space so it's not entirely private. We had to cut our stay short, and the host was nice to offer a credit on our next stay, which was unexpected. We would recommend the Chalet and will try to come again.

Down stairs unit, apartment feel.

Owner on property, and you know it. Lack of curtains in large windows, no curtins in bath room is a bit Creepy... Owner arriving in the AM to rake stones (no sidewalks) and rearrange furniture you have moved. Visible mold in Kitchen lower cabinet, your feet will get wet if you stand at the sink and clean 5 or 6 dishes. Funky old 1 room heater, old plastic box space heaters for bed rooms. Missing smoke detectors. Charges A CLEANING FEE, and asks you to tidy up, it's appears your the cleaning service, window glass smoked with dirt, cobb webbs in corners, nice hot water if wait long enough. Deep cleaning recommended. Will not return. Photo's available, and sent to Vrbo chat team.

This 2 bedroom downstairs Chalet was amazing. It was a very isolated but was perfect in what we wanted for a quick getaway! It was very clean, directions to clean and to find chalet were so easy to read. If highly recommend for a quiet vacation while enjoying the Pacific Northwest!

Pleasant but less privacy freshness than hoped for

The location was great and the house was very clean. Not disclosed in the listing was that there are now apparently 4 units potentially sharing the single hot tub but more significantly, the lower floor has windows which open on only 2 of the 4 sides and due to the placement of them it's impossible to get a breeze coming through the house without opening one or both doors but without screen doors even that isn't possible without letting insects fly in. We arrived on a warm day and couldn't get the house cooled off as there was no A/C, ceiling fans or portable fans. We went to another place to sleep the first night and returned the next day with several fans so we could stay the second night. The only other possible issue someone might have is anywhere we went outside was in full view of the people staying upstairs and most of the curtains are so thin they stop little light during the day and are see through at night if you have any inside light on. Host is an apparently very busy person as communications took days and we felt like we were left hanging on a couple important issues but they were ultimately worked out in time.

Convenient home

Overall this was a very nice place for the price. The amenities were considerably good but they didn't have a lot of kitchen utensils to make life more convenient like measuring cups or liquid measuring cups. The had very little silverware so bring your own plastic ones. You cannot drink the water. It is YELLOW and will give you a nasty headache. You must bring your own drinking water for your stay. You fill the bathtub with water to soak and it is so yellow it looks like someone peed in it. There are no available laundry for you to use so keep that in mind. They don't give you extra towels for multiple people in your family for an extended stay so unless you ask you'll be using the same towels. The internet and wifi is horrible and there is zero cell reception in the house. Things to consider. Overall I'd rate this home a 3 star.

Lovely House in the Woods

This is a lovely house, secluded and quiet. It is beautifully designed and furnished. Only a 5-7 minute drive to Arcata, yet located in a beautiful forested property. All the basics are provided and the hot tub located a few short steps from the house in a lovely forest is magical. Note: internet and telephone service is spotty.
