Wonderful Property

The Springhouse was very clean and had nice amenities. We really enjoyed the beauty of the property (amazing stars on clear nights) and although we did not utilize the studio, that was also very nice and updated. We will definitely stay again (and recommend to others) if we are in the area.

Blissful solitude

What an amazing stay. Mike and Diana were awesome hosts. My wife received a bee care lesson, we cooked out nightly on the fire pit, and she even saw a bear! The property is the type of place you just don’t want to leave. Plenty of room to explore, and watching the sun set on the property from the chalet is a heart-filling experience. Complete solitude, yet connected to the outside world by excellent high speed internet, and only 5 miles door to door to Meadows of Dan Food Market (open until 10 PM). We will be back, if Mike will have us. I highly recommend you give this spot a try.

Idyllic

When we arrived, traveling through the wall of rhododendrons that opened to the charming cabin, I knew I made the right choice. Michael stopped by to introduce himself and share his local knowledge. He is genuinely invested in guests' enjoyment of his magical property and I am so grateful that he shares it with the rest of us (and our dogs). We spent 75% of our time on the porch, observing wildlife (so many pollinators!) and enjoying the natural surroundings. Every exploration of the property was met with new inspiration. I appreciate that nature is allowed to be wild there, with natives flourishing to the benefit of all that rely on them. Inside, the cabin is comfortable and decorated with care. We only used the primary bedroom, but the bed and linens were so cozy! The room also stays dark with the curtains drawn, so plan on sleeping later than anticipated. Our week went by in a blink, and we definitely were not ready to depart, but left refreshed and filled with gratitude. Thank you!

This property is a woodland dream! We saw many wildlife everyday! Over 20 species of birds to cheerfully wake up to, deer, turkeys, bear, and even a bobcat made an appearance. It was great! It’s a roomy 3bedroom cabin with all conveniences of home, well furnished with just about anything you would need. Secluded, peaceful and my family loved it! We are planning next years trip already. The owner is very friendly and helpful, tipped us off on fun things to do within 30 minutes from the cabin. We spent a day in Floyd for an artisan trail of great art, a day at Fairy Stone Park and Mabry Mills. My daughter in law even got to help and learn about the owners bee hives. I highly recommend this property if you enjoy the forest and seclusion! Seriously we did NOT want to leave!

Location, location, location...

The cabin is close to everywhere we wanted to be, but it is set back far enough from parkway that we had tons of peace and privacy. No 4WD is required to access the property. The cabin was well-stocked with cooking utensils and dishes. Also, the linens were wonderful. The host provided us with good information about the property, local area and he is very responsive.

Beautiful and serene, we enjoyed 2 weeks of rejuvenation. The property was beautiful and we also spent time hiking, biking and site seeing in the local area. Meadows of Dan was very convenient for shopping for groceries and local art. The owner was very responsive and provided great suggestions and tips that enhanced our visit. Pure Bliss!

The moment this property came into sight we knew we'd be coming back! It's PERFECT! If you want to detox from life and immerse yourself in nature with complete privacy this is the place. The cabin is a perfect size and generously, graciously appointed, very comfortable but! Don't stay inside! If you love fabulous hiking and scenery, this is the place. If you like quaint friendly small town charm, this is the place! Everything suited our needs. The bees! The birds! The honey! Mark is an excellent intuitive host. "Into the woods I go to lose my mind and find my soul."

This property is amazing. The house is beautiful with big windows to enjoy all the amazing views. The owner is a great host. He left us a jar of honey from his bees that are on the property. He even offered to set up a demonstration with the bees for my children. The meditation studio is beautiful and we enjoyed music there on the covered porch. We fished in the ponds, played in the creeks, walked in the woods, and cooked on the outdoor fire pit. We all had a blast. I enjoyed the little things like the wildlife and the art around the property. The outdoor cooking area has all the amenities needed to prepare a whole meal outside. The owner responds to requests promptly and was just a really nice guy. We look forward to visiting again.

Wonderful relaxing stay

In need of some destressing and relaxation, my husband and I spent 5 nights at this amazing rental. It was what we needed and more. The property and the history was fascinating. We were immersed in history with all the modern conveniences. The owner was phenomenal; from answering all my questions about the property to the jar of honey gifted to us from the bees on the property! We hope to return again, soon!!

Fabulous location to Blue ridge Parkway; host was marvelous, many standard supplies already there!!! Kitchen stocked w/ plenty of pots n pans, foil, cellophane, etc. Bedrooms had plenty of room, large living room, huge front porch! Firepit was magnificent... charcoal n grill n wood n kindling...you name he has it or will provide...too much to share!

This property is isolated and quiet. There was plenty of room for the kids to run, play and enjoy s'mores at the fire pit. It's also conveniently located within 30 minutes from everything we wanted to get out and do.

Amazing trip!!

I cannot speak highly enough of our stay. We loved everything about the cabin and the grounds. The extra touches of honey, candles, soaps and lotion at the kitchen sink made it that much nicer. Great communication with the owner and perfect directions on how to get there. I am already going to book a return trip!

FANTASTIC AND SECLUDED

This property was wonderful! It was secluded and perfect for our mid vacation wind down from camping. Loved the meditation house and the gift of honey from the honey bees. Cabin was so comfortable and had very nice bedding, kitchen appliances and cookware. We loved to shop in the town of Floyd and Meadows of Dan. There are some very nice hikes close by! We will definitely stay again!

Best Ever for Privacy

We absolutely loved the property! Though it was cold, we sat out by the fire in the evenings. Michael has everything you need, easily accessible. Loved the meditation studio... .beautifully designed and spotless!! We didn't spend much time there, because we were exploring the area. The privacy of this property is unlike anything we've seen, and we've stayed in many different places. Really authentic, right down to the "gift from the honeybees" which we are taking home as a SWEET memory.
