Family trip

Overall our stay was good. We wanted to love it but we had a couple of hiccups. There was an issue with my platinum status and receiving free breakfast as a perk. Initially they only honored free breakfast for one room but I booked two rooms. Long story short, with a lot of back and forth, the manager accommodated us. The gentleman at the front desk was very rude. His name is Jonathan and he made my family and I feel like we were beneath him. It started with the breakfast option. He made us feel like we were begging. When it was time to check out, he provided us with charges for one of the rooms where our children stayed. They ate a couple of candy bars and drank some sodas no biggie. He added a charge for a liter size water and we told him that we bought water outside at the market on the corner. We actually bought 10 liter size waters. He rolled his eyes, snatched the paper and crossed it out with such an attitude. Then he jerked the paper towards us to sign. Again, making us feel like we bums. It was very uncomfortable. The other thing we didn’t like is that they didn’t change the bed sheets. I didn’t notice until the 3rd night. When housekeeping comes, they just make up the bed without changing the sheets. I spoke to the front desk about it and they did current change it. Other than these things, overall we had a great time. We did excursions everyday and had a blast.

The property is very modern, and well kept. Actually, the design was beautiful and well thought out. From the flowers around the building to the furniture. Staff were all awesome. Always ready to help, and extremely kind. The food on property was delicious, breakfast Buffett was included and the restaurant for lunch or dinner was very well priced for the quality of food. There’s a beautiful restaurant on the 2nd floor as well as the rooftop bar which offers good. Diego was the main bar tender on the rooftop that we saw daily to make our margaritas. He was the sweetest. Overall had an amazing time in Medellín and can not think of anything negative today about York luxury suites and their excellent staff. Thank you!

The hotel is grand. Lobby is elegant although rarely used as it sits back from the very small and crowded reception. Thus, the space is poorly thought. The building feels massive. Views from the top are phenomenal. However, maintenance is poor. The gym is terrible and its outside patio underused and abandoned. Has a fake plastic grass that has holes and has seen better days. Plants are poorly watered and thus, look cheap. Walls require painting. So many areas that look shady and tired. Restaurant on 2nd floor is large, comfortable and food is convenient. Nice garden and terrace as well. Buffet breakfast is plentiful and delicious. Staff is the best of this location. Rooms are comfortable but terribly thought. Furniture feels and is massive for the spaces. We had a suite with a dedicated laundry closet but no machines. Kitchenette is fine. Sofa is too large and makes the little space hard to walk around. And the restroom although fine its simple too little for a suite room. Would be a phenomenal place if they keep it nice and up to date. Very gracious service and staff.

Great for family!

We had a great time in the short time we stayed. The two queen bed “emerald” room was spacious, modern, and clean. They also use Loccitane products! The kitchen came in handy for us with children. The staff was very friendly and professional. The rooftop bar and pool had amazing views in the night. The drinks were great as well! We will definitely come back!

Overall- met and exceeded my expectations ! The receptionist was polite and the service was exceptional. The room I booked was exactly how I reserved it, exactly like the pictures. We decided to take transportation from the hotel to the airport and they were kind enough to let me know how traffic was so I can coordinate my time. I will highly recommend.
