This property is tired and damaged and needs a thorough clean. Kitchen is very greasy. Window coverings consist of a blind, a sheer curtain and a SHOWER curtain which doesnât actually cover length of windows so no light blockout. Bathroom is dirty and grout is mouldy. There is a crack in ceiling above shower (re 30 cm long) and ceiling is falling downwards. Water damage of vanity unit because itâs not level. Location was excellent. Tram stop at front door. One block from Bourke Street mall.
Accommodation booked was not available and an alternative was offered being at 620 Collins St. Location of alternative accommodation is suitable for most activities in Melbourne thanks to accessibility to Trams and Trains. Alternative accommodation was worn with various items damaged that impacted directly on the stay - such as the blind that covered the door to access the balcony area being unable to be opened, as it was already damaged it does not appear to be new. We had planned to cook using the oven on Christmas Day however the door was damaged/bowed and not suitable for cooking. All surfaces were dirty, Pillows had hair and stains on them, towels were almost thread bare and smelt like cigarettes. The Host was responsive to my complaints and did arrange for a team to attend the accommodation after the first night. It seems the host is possibly being let down by the cleaning contractor - as it appears all surfaces were given a quick wipe down with the same cloth - with hard surfaces looking worse than before they arrived. I was able to follow up with a vacuum and we left the accommodation overall in a better condition than we found it,
