We stopped just for the night halfway to our beach vacation. It was a beautiful area, and we loved the older historic homes. Something important to us was feeling safe near downtown, and we arrived at 12:30am and felt completely safe the entire time. The beds were super comfortable!
Unclean property; disagreeable host; disputing my payment
We walked in + immediately smelled urine. I messaged the host who dropped off 2 sprays on the porch. I sprayed + the smell broke through in no time. I found large pieces of debris on the floor + spots/grime on the walls, counters + floor, some unidentifiable + some looked like blood. There were Raid bug strips hanging from 2 ceiling fixtures. I was shocked to see a message from the host asking that I let him know at the end of our stay where the urine was coming from + that I still give 5 stars. I asked how to cancel + get a refund. He wrote that I was being hostile + retaliatory since he wouldnât let me out of my reservation. (I had tried to cancel right after booking, but moved forward when he wouldnât issue a refund.) He then advised me to cancel on the app. I confirmed he meant I could cancel + receive a refund. He wrote that he didnât want me to stay if I wasnât happy. Before I had a chance to call VRBO, VRBO called me. As it turns out, the host had contacted VRBO while we were finding a new hotel, driving across town + checking in. I realized that the host called first to offer an incorrect story. He said there was no urine smell + we hadnât even checked in, both of which were untrue. The host never came in the house to smell what we smelled. We have proof of checking in from the pictures I sent in + from our messages on the site. This was the worst rental experience. The uncleanliness was bad enough; the host lying to keep from refunding our money is unconscionable.
This was the perfect place to stay for a friends wedding. An adorable house with two parking spots. It was quiet and clean. My only critique is that we needed more towels for showers, but we managed. Great place!
We were only in town for a night for a concert, but it was such a great location, we wished we could stay longer. The home is in a historic district surrounded by other beautiful historic homes with such charm and character.
This house was so well decorated and check in was really easy. I loved there was a dedicated parking spot. It is a beautiful place and very historic, the noise from the upstairs and across neighbors is quite loud throughout the night (not them personally, just with the floors creaking etc) so if you are a light sleeper it might be an issue. But overall very sweet place and very close to midtown!
I loved this house! The neighborhood was wonderful! Safe and cute! Very short drive ($8 Uber) to downtown. Plus I really felt comfortable about the off street parking.
The house itself was so simple and adorable. Had the necessary implements in the kitchen and the rest of the house.
One feature I loved was the automated log out on the TV - when we turned it on, it asked for the check date and time and scheduled to log out of all accounts when we leave - this is brilliant!!
The bedrooms were very spacious and I loved the decor in the house as well. Check in and check out procedures were simple and easy to follow!
If I'm in Memphis again, I will defintiely look this place up!
Quaint neighborhood that is easily accessible to all Memphis has to offer. Beds were super comfortable and communication with Cooper was spot on. Thanks for a great stay!
This spot was beautiful and modern, located right outside of the city. The host was nice and easy to communicate with and the house definitely felt like a home! Highly recommend this spot if you ever plan on visiting the area!
Chose midtown location as it was cheaper than downtown Memphis. We had our own car so location was perfect and sites to visit were within 10 min. drive. Neighborhood was nice. House inside was very clean. A bit sterile and minimalist in decor but comfortable enough. Just seemed to lack a bit of personality and charm. Kitchen provisions were basic. Might struggle a bit if trying to cook for family. Outside was a bit run down. There were no provisions to sit outside and no garden to speak of. This was unfortunate as the weather was beautiful. Overall, it met our needs and served our purposes well.
