Check in was difficult because the office staff forgot to send us an email about late check in instructions. The room was ok. The vanity was loose and hanging from the wall. Caulking in the bath was falling apart. The deadbolt throw was missing. The only redeeming quality of the property was the river view. We were glad we weren’t staying more than a night.

This was bit of an unexpected gem. The location is spectular on the rim of the San Juan River canyon. The rooms all have balconies that overlook the river and are a great place to sit and relax. The room we had was recently remodeled and was in great shape and good sized. The only warning to anyone is a limitation of Mexican Hat. There are only two restaurants in town. One is connected to this hotel and had decent food. Do not know what the other was like. The hotel's restaurant is the only real option for breakfast but be warned they aren't open for breakfast on Mondays.

It was just the two of us but we could only book a 2 bedroom o/l. More room than we needed & yet the bathroom is very small. Location was good-right beside the San Juan River & an easy drive to Monument Valley.

Location was good for our travels and the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The facility needs an update. Our room was old, we had to ask for hand soap as there was none in the room. We were on the second floor and when people walked by there was a bit of a shake in our room. TV or cable wasn't fully functional.

Clean large room with comfortable bed. Shower and toilet in different room than shower - no place in shower to put the bar soap provided, but shampoo dispenser in shower. Several holes in the wall in shower/toilet room. Not much else around, so..... Restaurant was OK, coffee provided down in restaurant, ice available.

The rooms were very clean, and had everything we needed. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. It is an older property that has been brought up to modern standards as well as possible. Our room was large, a happy surprise. They have made delightful places for people to sit outside, both under cover and under the stars.
