This is a simple 3 bedroom (4 bed), 1 bath home on one floor. There is plenty of parking to park your boat or jet ski! There is a fenced yard as well as a porch to barbecue outside as well as a full kitchen inside. There is also a small gas fire pit. The gas grill and gas fire pit have gas tanks attached. The home is a very walkable 7 blocks to the beach and the property borders woods with nice walking paths- the perfect blend of town and country! The home is perfectly positioned near casinos (about 2 minutes drive from Blue Chip and 15 minutes to Four Winds). The home is north of Highway 12- in the area called the “Lake Hills” subdivision. It is in a very safe beach community. The Lighthouse Outlet Mall is about a 5 minute drive- so it’s easy to find everything from Bose speakers to Ralph Lauren, Nike, and Le Creuset!
This is a pet friendly home. We offer a small fenced yard with standard chain link as well as a tall 10x10 outdoor kennel on a concrete pad. Pets are, of course, welcome in the house! There are a number of walking paths nearby, too! Perfect places to walk a dog! Just let us know if you are bringing a pet and describe it for us. We limit the number of dogs to three (this is a city limit for pets) There is no size restriction for your dog. We always had a Great Dane when we lived in that house! There are a couple in the neighborhood!
We offer easy entry to the home. You can come and go on your own keylessly with a simple four digit code.
Also if you are traveling with babies or small children - check out the link below for “Baby Quip” they rent clean quality items that are delivered right to the house so you don’t have to travel with a bunch of gear. Here’s a link. I’ve heard great things about their sanitized stuff and I hear they have a great selection of baby beds, pack & plays, and items for toddlers too!

Stay at this place!

We came to Michigan City for my daughter’s Senior trip. She wanted to go to Chicago and I didn’t want to stay in Chicago. I found this house. This cute little house is a short walk from stop 7 on Lake Michigan. The host was extremely friendly and helpful. The next time we come up this way, we will stay here. I highly recommend staying here. You will not regret it. The location was a 10/10.

This property is well worn but also in need of a deep cleaning. Particularly disappointiing is that the property claims to be pet friendly yet the fenced in area had not been cleaned of dog feces for a length of time

MICE!

While the owner was very pleasant to deal with, we arrived and found that the place was not particularly clean to begin with, but then actually seen mice in the kitchen. Not just evidence, but yes actual MICE. So renter beware! She indicated that it was due to some recent excavation work that was taking place near by that stirred them up and there had been problems in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, that information was not shared until after our arrival and us notifying her of the mice. We were forced to try and find last minute accommodations with three dogs in tow. No easy task!!! And Vrbo wants to baby step it through helping with this, so I spent the first 2 days of my vacation doing anything but relaxing and instead, worrying about where we were going to sleep the next few nights or if we were going to have to give up vacation completely and just return home. The owner indicates she has taken steps to take care of the problem, but please beware.

Great family house!

The house was perfect for our family (2 adults and 3 kids, ages 4-13). We loved playing cards at the dining room table, cooking on the outdoor grill, and hanging out in the living room together. The kitchen was roomy enough for all of us to gather and help make dinner. Our host gave us all the details we needed and we enjoyed their insight into the area! The location was very convenient and quiet! The house was clean, well stocked with necessities, and the beds were very comfortable. Overall great place to stay for a great family vacation!

Quick little getaway

House was in a location that allowed us to take advantage of everything that Michigan City and New Buffalo had to offer. Fenced in yard allowed us to bring our dog with. The private beach was walkable, but we chose to drive to the public beach so we wouldn't have to carry everything. Owner checked on us and answered any questions we had.

Great Place for a short or long stay!

Wanted a place to stay while visiting the Indiana Dunes with some friends, and this was perfect! It's about 20-30 minutes away from the main state and national park locations, but that worked out just fine for us. Lots of room in the house for hanging out in the evenings after we were done hiking or being at the beach. There is a nearby grocery store and lots of nearby food options for eating out or drinks. Very easy to get to, check in and out was a breeze, and we had everything we needed for a nice weekend getaway.

Fun Stop on a Road Trip!

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights during a road trip. The home is close to the beach, restaurants, and the Indiana Dunes. The owner was helpful and accommodating and we felt very welcome with our 65 pound 8 month old puppy! The home was clean and comfortable and the small yard and deck were nice!

This was a perfect getaway for us!

Excellent home away from home

Prior to the pandemic, I had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful vacation rental while visiting relatives in Michigan City. Ever since that time, it is the first place I look for when booking a trip to Michigan City. Unless you are very lucky, you will need to book in advance and asap because this property goes very fast and is in high demand. The house is spacious, clean, pet friendly, and equipped with everything needed to feel at home. It is in an excellent location and just a short walk to the beach. The owners are very responsive, accommodating, and definitely deserve their rating of being premier hosts. I highly recommend staying at this property and hope to be lucky enough to stay there again when I visit Michigan City.
