About this property
Private Main-Level Apt | Anoka Near Twin Cities
Some places put you near the action. This one puts you in it. This is the main-floor unit of a beautifully updated 1940s duplex sitting right on Main Street in Anoka’s historic downtown — one of the north metro’s most charming and walkable neighborhoods. Walk out the front door and you’re surrounded by local restaurants, craft breweries, antique shops, a community theater, and the kind of small-town character that’s hard to find this close to the Twin Cities. A resident lives in the upper unit, so guests who appreciate a neighborly, community feel will be right at home.
Anoka takes its identity seriously. It's the Halloween Capital of the World — the first city in America to hold an organized Halloween celebration, a tradition more than 100 years running. October here is a full-blown event: three parades, a 5K, and the whole town dressed for the occasion. But the other 11 months hold their own too. A social district open seven days a week. A summer Riverfest on the waterfront. A weekly Farmers Market. And two rivers — the Rum and the Mississippi — meeting just blocks from your front door.
The unit itself is comfortable and well cared for — two bedrooms, a remodeled kitchen and bathrooms, and updates throughout that keeps the charm of a 1941 build while feeling very current. It's a great-sized space for a couple, a small family, or anyone who wants a home base in the heart of a real community.
THE SPACE
- A bright, comfortable main-floor unit in a charming duplex — updated throughout and laid out for an easy, unhurried stay. A resident lives in the upper unit; guests who are considerate neighbors will feel right at home.
- Living Area — Comfortable and welcoming, with natural light and room to settle in after a day out on Main Street
- Kitchen — A fully remodeled kitchen with appliances and counter space — everything you need for real meals without crowding
- Dining — A proper dining area with room to gather
- Bedrooms — Two well-furnished bedrooms with comfortable queen beds
- Bathrooms — Two full remodeled bathrooms
DOWNTOWN ANOKA AND THE RIVERS
Walk out the front door and you're already there. Anoka's Main Street is lined with independently owned shops, wine bars, a bookstore, restaurants, and bars — all within a few blocks. The city's Social District is open year-round, seven days a week, 10am to 10pm, which means you can pick up a drink and just wander.
The Rum River Trail runs right through town — over 8 miles of riverfront paths connecting parks and natural areas along the way. The Mississippi National River and Recreation Area, a National Park Service site, stretches 72 miles through the metro and has trailheads just minutes away. In summer, catch the Riverfest on the waterfront or a production at Lyric Arts Main Street Stage. In October, the whole city turns into something you have to see to believe.
