This is a beautiful and immaculate home situated walking distance from St Thomas University. It was perfect for our family gathering and met every need we had during our stay. Our hostâs decor and sense of style was appreciated by our group!
We had a great weekend in St. Paul and am so grateful that we were able to experience Summit ave. Crissy was an amazing host and very responsive to all communication. Her home is a true gem, thank you for the opportunity to enjoy a historic treasure.
This is a beautiful property in a prime location on Summit Ave in St Paul. It is close to food, activities, and a number of universities. The house is well decorated and spacious. It was perfect for our group.
Outstanding-perfect for getting ready on Wedding Day
Excellent property and decor. Nice kitchen. Location convenient to the Cathedral. We stayed here the night prior to our daughterâs wedding. On Wedding Day, we had hair and makeup for 4. The photographer loved the mansion. Did not get to use the garden but it was beautiful. Crissy was the perfect host. Went above and beyond to respond to all last minute questions. I would stay here again.
This home had everything we were looking for: spacious rooms, a fantastic kitchen, and a host who was dedicated to making our stay special. The decor and appointments were lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The service and communication was superb. I had a specialized reason to use a vrbo and she was all over it, Communication was on point and the neighborhood is a wonderful stretch of beautiful homes and fun shops and places to eat. It filled all my needs!
I used to go to St Thomas and always dreamed of living in a house on Summit so to be able to come back with my two teens on a weekend in the twin cities and find 3 days in a house on Summit that almost instantly made me feel at homeâŠwas really special. The garage parking and back yard and entry to the house was so nice and easy to use. Then we got to experience the house which I found to be not just beautiful and amazing but clean and with details that show a cool vibe set in this stunning home. I canât stop thinking about the front entryway floor of all things :) the front bathroom is gorgeous and I will literally go on forever about details of a home with history on an avenue with history and the care and love obviously put into it. I was supposed to be in London this week but couldnât go because of fires at Heathrow and finding this house on Vrbo to stay in after deciding to take the kids to St. Paul to retain some fun on a disappointing spring break let down made me wonder if I had a better experience in a more beautiful place than London?? :)
What worked - the house is a lovely old mansion in a great area. The gathering areas were large and comfortable. The kitchen has very high-end appliances, although no microwave. This meant that snacking on left-overs from dinners out necessitated use of the oven or stove. There was a small counter-top oven.
What didn't work - the top-floor bedroom and bathroom were so cold that they were unusable, even after we asked the owner if we could turn the heat up. So that meant we really only had 2 showers for 6 people. While we understand that this is the owner's primary residence, there was so much of her personal stuff everywhere it was uncomfortable. The room that was an homage to her son's athletic career left no room to hang any of our things, or set a cup on the bedside tables. The refrigerator had her food in it with instructions not to eat it. It was just kind of weird. We are a respectful group, but we felt like we were intruding.
Overall, the owner was very nice and accommodating, but there is a big difference between letting people stay in your house, and renting it out as a VRBO.
A slice of Americana. Located on the most beautiful avenue in America. Old style home, tastefully renovated for comfort, practicality and style. Classy! Convenient to airport and everything else in the Twin Cities.
This was Incredibly lovely home to stay in and our host was so lovely and accommodating and welcoming! We all had such a fun and easy experience in this home and Iâm so happy we stayed there! Our host was such a joy to work with and couldnât have been an easier process. Clean and professional and beautiful.
We used to live on this street, and came back for a wedding. It felt like coming home. Very beautiful and comfortable. The owner lives at the property and vacates when it is rented. She treated us like personal guests and was very present for questions. This is a lovely historic home.
We had a wonderful stay in this charming house on Summit Avenue. The house was very comfortable for our group of six. We enjoyed the beautiful furnishings, comfortable beds, and backyard patio and gardens. The owner was very responsive and quickly answered any questions we had. The location is superb. We especially enjoyed the proximity to the Mississippi River walking trail. I highly recommend this property.
The house is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. I appreciated the blending of the classic Summit house and modern conveniences like opening the garage door from my phone.
Crissy was super helpful and very available for questions both before and during our stay.
We had an excellent stay and would highly recommend this property!
We were looking for a nice place for a four day stay over Thnksgiving and found this. Location is terrific in the middle of St Paul near the Freeway and a 13 minute drive to the airport. The house is even more lovely than the pictures with impeccable decor, lots of space to hang out, a modern kitchen with all of the amenities. The master bedroom is large with an en suite bathroom, and all of the rooms look nice. A 2 car garage, nice back yard in season, and easy parking. Communication with the owner was excellent. We are thinking about renting again in the spring. While not inexpensive, it still gives value considering the quality of the home, location, and easy to work with the owner. A+ in my book.
Very impressed with the overall quality of the home, loved the âold meets newâ classy and stylish decor. Chrissy was extremely responsive and answered all my questions! Would totally come back, on a very beautiful street and close to the bike/run trail. St Paul is a cozy get-away vibe. You will love this place!
