The mattress was lumpy and clearly in need of replacement. The ceiling fan didnât work, and the air conditioning was inconsistentâeither too hot or barely tolerable. Additionally, the amenity codes provided were outdated (from 2024), which made access frustrating. The price was reasonable but I guess you get what you pay for. Communication with the host was minimal.
A/C couldnât get the room below 80 degrees. Pool codes and fitness room codes did not work. Limited number of parking passes, so you had to plan out how many times you could come and go from garage. Zero response from property owner on these issues. Made our trip much less enjoyable having to sit in a hot room. Couldnât access the pool or fitness room. With limited parking passes we had to plan out and manage our trips in and out of parking garage. Messaged the owner everyday with no response. I would not recommend this property. We have stayed at the Bahia two times before and this was hands down worst experience. We have stayed in Sandestin multiple times over the last several years, hands down our worst experience. Not sure how this property is allowed to be listed as it is not as advertised.
I should have read the reviews. The owner does not care about this property. Itâs obvious they do not care that the air conditioner unit has not worked for some time now as was posted and stated many times in many reviews. This single room was hot and miserable, even the ceiling fan did not work. The owner should not even be allowed to rent out this property until they addressed these issues. Anyone renting this deserves a full refund. Zero stars.
There was no AC in the unit. Contacted the owner around check in about the problem and they didn't get someone to fix the unit until mid day the following day. The unit was 85 degrees so I ended up stay at another property. Poor communication and owner did not to call for any updates even though requested. Would not recommend.
The air conditioning was not working and when the owner was contacted they gave a number to call. When I called the number the guy said he was not coming out to fix because he and the owner has had problems with payment. When I let the owner know what they said the owner did not reply and did not find anyone to come and fix the air conditioning. I don't recommend booking this unit.
This was by far one of the worst experiences Iâve had booking a stay. The host was completely unresponsive â taking hours to reply, even when I needed urgent help. I was given the wrong access codes, which made check-in incredibly frustrating. On top of that, the QR code provided for parking only allowed a one-time entry. Once you're inside the property, you canât leave and come back without losing access, and this was never explained in advance.Things got even worse when the host blocked my phone number, leaving me with no way to reach out. I contacted VRBO for help, and even they had a hard time getting a hold of the host. Because of all this, I ended up leaving the property and didnât stay at all.I hope no one else has to go through this. I would strongly recommend booking elsewhere â this host is completely unprofessional and unresponsive. The room was clean however- the fan didnât work and neither did the AC. I feel that VRBO did everything they could to help me and even ended up finding my daughter and I another room. I will book again but not with this host. I hope that VRBO takes down this listing because with host like this, it really puts a sour taste.
While the price point was good and the room served its intended purpose, there were some things to be improved. Lack of supplies. If staying here bring toilet paper and trash bags as well as anything else you think you might need for a few days stay. We had half a roll of TP that ran out after 2 days. There was only 1 trash bag and it was in the can. Basically you are paying for just the room with a bed and a cou h/ sofa bed. The bed and sofa bed could use new mattresses. I found sleeping on the couch more comfortable than sleeping in the bed or sofa bed.Bring water. Some places I have stayed supply some bottled waters. This room had nothing available. So plan ahead.The location was great for what we were doing. Golf! The price point was reasonable and below local hotel rates.Cieling fan. Did not operate.Instructions. There should be a list of intructions on how to operate the AC. Especially when it is shut off and 83 in the room when you get there. Luckily i brought my own portable fan otherwise the first night would have been rough.Overall its a basic hotel room, without hotel service. Could not locate reception to ask for basic supplies like TP. Bring your own pool towels etc. Room had 3 towels to use for two people over 3 nights. They were well used since we were outside playing golf everyday and needed to shower before evening activities. The location was great with Baytowne Wharf shopping and food within 5 minute walk. It was clean.
The air conditioning did not work. I spent 3 nights with the temperature of 80 in the room. I reported it to the owner and no one came to repair the unit.
I have stayed at the Bahia building before but in different rooms so I knew what to expect upon arrival. I had not received the garage QR code on the day of check-in so I messaged the owner and she sent it over pretty quickly. Only issue was that it wasnât one QR code for my whole stay- she sent several one time QR code passes. Luckily I had enough to get in anytime I needed to, but it was a hassle to have to open a new QR code every time. The room itself was pretty basic- the mattress sagged and wasnât very comfortable, the toilet was clogged and every time we tried to flush it, it would bubble up and almost over flow! Also when taking a shower- the pipes would make an awful knocking noise that would even affect the TV and the water would come out in spasms! It was incredibly loud and obnoxious. We had to use the plunger on more than one occasion and let me tell you- it wasnât pleasant!! Who wants to plunge a toilet on vacation?! Lastly- the room listing says that youâre welcome to ride the tram that the property has running to and from the beach but there wasnât a card anywhere in the room. When I asked the property owner about it (twice)- she never responded. The reception desk told me there was no way to pay for it in the moment- but that the property manager had to pay a fee for it and then include the card for us to use to ride the tram. So we ended up spending more money in gas/parking than we had planned since we were not able to ride on the tram. Overall unsatisfied
Condo was clean and adequate for a short stay, no frills but great location. Interaction with the owner after her check-in email however was non-existent. She waited 24 hours before our stay to provide check-in info (no other rental has ever waited this close to give check-in info etc so that was odd) 1) she gave us outdated pass codes for access to pool, gym etc. the codes never worked, 2) she gave us 8 separate QR codes to access parking, we had to plan trips off site in order to insure enough QR codes were banked (bizarre) and 3) she moved back our check out time to 10:00 am and 4) provided no info on check out procedure ie trash taken out, etc. which has never been omitted on any past rentals. I immediately emailed her back inquiring about the passcodes, that, in her own email, stated that they expired June 15th (our stay was in July), and about the limited number of parking access codes and the change in our check out time. I reached out twice, once the day before our visit, immediately after her check in email and once the first day of our stay and she never responded to us...We have used VRBO for 25 years and LOVE the service and have NEVER had any communication issues with any owner until this one...be warned YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN with this property owner.
Overall the studio is great for 1-2 people. Close walking to everything, right across from pool. Condo wasnât cleaned upon arrival and at first it was little difficult to get in touch with owner. Upon speaking it was able to be cleaned and resolved hours later. However the air did not work entire trip. Overall not a bad room to stay without the two unfortunate issues and the area condo is located in is amazing.
VRBO customer 'service' was terrible! Arrived at location without 'QR' code needed to access parking garage. Had asked numerous times in days prior and given the 'run around' Two agents even suggested parking wasn't included. Access to unit is through parking garage. On site workers let us into the garage while informing us that use of their passes for this purpose could only be used once. VRBO couldn't reach the owner/host [in Canada] and suggested that we do their job by calling owners directly. [at our expense, of course] Reached owners on day 2 [after numerous long distant calls to Canada] and finally received codes.
Air conditioning didn't work. VRBO said they'd take care of it. Never did. Temp reached 80 in the late afternoon evening..in the unit.
Sofa bed had no sheets. Didn't bother calling VRBO.
One roll of bathroom tissue provided for two adults, for six days.
This place in cheap for a reason.
Very nice. QR code, difficult, for parking and getting into the property. I have no smart phone. Once I was able to print QR code on paper things went well.
