Nice onsen and good food

Pros: Nice large onsen with a view, including sauna and cold bath. Great food (set dinner and breakfast buffet)
Cons: Despite being located directly on Oboke river, hotel is surrounded by old shaby construction like most areas in Oboke and Iya.
Location: Close to boating and rafting base
The rooms are ok, the onsen is very good and food is delicious. The staff is efficient but is definitely lacking the warmth we are used from other places. We also found hotels in Oboke & Iya to be more expensive than comparable places in Kyoto ! The beautiful scenery in Oboke and Iya is however often degareded by old and run-down constructions.
