Much nicer (and often cheaper) than the discount motels on North Fremont. Your neighbors here are families, quiet and polite. A nice change from the mentally ill druggies that stay up on North Fremont. Surf Lodge is walking distance to downtown Monterey. Don't forget to visit Red's Donuts and the Paris Bakery Cafe in the morning.

Very nice little motel. Has everything you need, very clean, staff is nice, very helpful. Across the street from Del Monte shopping plaza and mall work places to eat and shop, Whole Foods there too. Will definitely stay again

Staff is great and the room is very clean. Very comfy King size bed. Only thing I found strange is there is no place to hang clothes (no bar with hangars). But for the money this place is a no brainer. Stayed two nights and will return when I'm needing a motel room.
