This rental is a work in progress. It's an old house and has that interesting vintage aspect, but also seems run down. We picked it because of the location, which was lovely I think we may be one of the first renters because there were no reviews. Would I stay there again? Not as is. With fees, we are are paying $200 a night, which makes the advertised price of 88 absurd. I am not claiming deception, because I knew the true per night cost. But, that said, I don't think you get what you pay for. Clean sinks and toilets & the beds were appealing and the towels soft. The best part was cups of tea on the side porch. We are walkers and enjoyed walking to the appealing main street of Cloverdale and then on to Montgomery. 'Can't recommend the Peace and Justice Memorial highly enough. Montgomery is an ideal place to learn the full history of US and understand who we are. So all of that was good. The house...is old and has a bit of the run down look to it. The updates are poorly done. There were paint peelings on the floor upstairs that we then tracked throughout the house. That was unnecessary. The floors needed a good sweep. The caulking in the bathroom was astonishingly sloppy. When you walk in, your first impression is the smell of wet mops because they are in the corner of a doorless closet in the kitchen. There are no waste baskets in the bathroom or bedrooms, nor was there soap in the bathroom. And finally, the windows are painted shut, with no screens or working AC. Needs work
