We came together in Montgomery for my cousin's baby shower, and this house was so much preferable to a hotel because it allowed us to be together and catch up over a relaxing family weekend.
The home is very cute, and a wonderful remodel of an older crafstman cottage. Some reviews were misleading, I believe, because of a lack of appreciation for old houses and what it takes to bring them into the modern age. We are from New Orleans, so we appreciated the charming details, crown mouldings, transoms over the doorways, the old tubs and windows. Nicely refurbished and very comfortable.
The neighborhood was quiet and seemed safe. It is a working-class neighborhood, with some homes in less good repair, but most yards were well maintained.
My 11 year old son really enjoyed the foosball table, and we all loved the screened in patio for sitting outside with a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening.
The wi-fi was not consistent throughout the house, and we could not log on to some services in the back bedroom. I'm sure that can be easily remedied.
Some notes that would make the home more comfortable for elderly travelers: Handrails at the front steps and grab bars in at least one bathroom would have been appreciated. Two of our party were 80 years old and the lack of those safety items was concerning for them (although there were no issues to report; everyone came home safe).
Thank you for a lovely stay. We will come again.
