A very old facility. Stairs only, even to get to the front entrance. Office staff were kind and helpful. Shared bathroom on upper floors. We had our own ensuite…tub and shower. The floor under the bed was very dirty. House keeping obviously doesn’t look under there. Bed was comfortable. Located “down town “ in Westmount.

Great Downtown Location

We were very happy with our stay at Casa Bella and it has become one of our favorite hotels in downtown Montreal. The location is excellent - less than a 5 minute walk to Place des Arts where there is always something fun and interesting to do/see/hear. There was a medium/small fridge with a separate freezer in our room as well as a microwave. There is a supermarket right across the street and it was really nice to have free parking in the lot behind the hotel. We were able to lock the bicycles we brought with us there as well. It was a little quirky to access it via the 2 story fire escape, but it worked out fine. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was very spacious and had a full closet, shelves, and a dresser. We were disappointed that there was no separate receptacle for recyclables and the hallway and stairway carpeting is very well worn, but we plan to return.

Its okay for a quick cheap stay, but its kind of bleak in its austerity. Looks like a time capsule from the 90s. The couch in my room needed to be replaced years ago, and the shower didnt drain properly. The mattress also needed to be replaced, and the pillows were two very random levels of firmness. The area outside the hotel looks abandonned.

The room was not Monica clean, of course, and was rather dusty. Now the price, the location, walkability, all made it worth for us. Even though we were not promised to have a parking spot, we easily got one during a vacation that was an Ontario long-weekend, so chances are you also get a spot.

The odour of cigarette smoke was very strong for non-smoker room and I noticed bedbugs underneath the bedsheet. The carpet was very old and smelly urine. I am still trying to get my charge reverse.

I would stay here again, the room was clean, the staff was super, air conditioning was sporadic but we didn’t have any problems embracing the experience- we were 2 late 60’s females travelling alone and we never felt unsafe. The beds were incredibly comfortable- the decor was old fashioned but that also had its own charm- the young lady working the front desk changed our room to a ground floor without extra charges. People need to understand this is a very low cost hotel and you get what you pay for. A lot of value when you factor in the primo location . No coffee in the rooms so plan for that
