Great for a Family Stay

Place was nice and clean including rooms and public washrooms. Indoor/outdoor pool and weight room were also well maintained. The location was excellent for those planning to visit the biodome and local museums within walking distance. The reception desk were courteous, very informative and helpful being fully bilingual. Shoutout to Ismail, William and lovely lady at the desk who went out of their way to give us a positive experience. Will be planning to come back as the pricing was very reasonable and we were able to park our car for the day while walking to those museums!

Right beside a major spot for sport and biodome, planetarium and predominantly fraco area so not far to real Montreal and cuisine exceptionale. Extremely quiet on non event nights. 2 pools. Good size exercise. Profesional, polite staff. Ecinomical choice. So clean. A few rough edges but who the heck cares!

Overall a very good experience at l'Hotel Universal. A few small concerns: bathroom & shower floor were quite slippery and the bedroom carpet corners (by headboard) retained some un-vacuumed food debris. Room lighting was very well distributed. Bed was very comfortable, though I personally prefer a less-firm pillow. All staff were kind and professional.

We were looking for vending machines for drinks and went floor to floor looking and found broken ice machines, air conditioners ripped off the walls and just lying on the floor (hazard both for tripping and possible electrical hazard with wires sticking out and looks bad) . When we finally found the drink vending machine one was broken and the other wouldnt take our money so we asked the desk attendant to break a $20 bill and he said he didnt have money. The room we had had two beds (one would assume for family) but the bathroom was not discreet or private. It is located at the front door when you walk in and does not have an actual door, also requires you to walk out naked after a shower because there is nowhere for your clothes. Theres also no privacy to use the toilet. Overall i was shocked that this costs nearly $200 per night no breakfast included either. This is one of the cheaper hogher rated hotels but i wont be back its not reasonable at all
