This is a great little cottage in a convenient spot in Montrose. Itâs old and quaint but has all the amenities youâll need! It is a great location for visiting the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. The town has some great restaurants and open spaces.
Cheapest price in area. Small window ac in front room didn't cool effectively. Windows were old and host told us not to open. No egress from bedroom. Front steps needed railing and repair.
A very cozy, private place. It beats staying in a hotel room and it was priced about the same or even less. We enjoyed just sitting on the front deck and having our wine & beer. No view, but very peaceful and private. It was clean and well attended. It is older style. The futon in the front room was too low to floor for us older folks, but we managed. Front steps could use a railing for older folks to help get up and back down them. We really enjoyed the cottage. If we make it back, it would be our choice of a place to stay again.
The cottage is charming and clean. We only spent one night and the owners made it super convenient - with easy self-check-in and very clear instructions for things like A/C and wifi. Location was perfect - had dinner at a nearby brewery and picked up hiking provisions at the big supermarket just blocks away. The kitchen seemed pretty well-equipped but we did not use anything other than the fridge.
Enjoyed Uncompaghre Cottage! This was just right for our few nights stay while doing some moutnain Jeep trails. The cottage is small but comfortable and cozy. Window a/c did a good job cooling main living area but it was very hot when we visited so bed and bathroom were a little warm but not too bad. I'm sure most of the time that isn't an issue. Check in and out was easy and host was attentive. Loved nearby Colorado Boy Brewery and Pizza. Also Bluecorn Cafe was a favorite. Thanks for a great stay!
The property was not stocked with needful necessities, such as sheets for the futon-sofa bed, and the futon cover was in need of a washing. The bathroom light would not light up bright, but one time for a few minutes. A broom, but no dustpan.
Overall, it was a very nice stay. The space was very well designed and cozy. The front yard was a great spot to sit and relax in the evening/morning. The kitchen could use a little work (countertop could be cleaned better and drawers fell out if you weren't careful) but was still very usable and well stocked.
The cottage was very clean and the bed comfortable. The host was amazing and answered questions quickly. Small cottage that was the right size for our family of 3. Nice neighborhood and is easy walking distance to downtown. Quick drive to Black Canyon NP. Would recommend.
The cottage is small but has everything we needed. Itâs close to the black canyon of the gunnison which is why we stayed there. Itâs on a quiet street with convenient parking. Itâs also close to curecanti recreation area which is worth a visit.
Perfect location for our 2-night stay, while visiting friends. We walked to the Farmer's Market on Saturday and enjoyed the cozy environment of the Cottage.
We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in Montrose and the surrounding area. Rachel was a great host!! Her cozy VRBO was a perfect, comfortable and relaxing getaway to explore the Black Canyon, Ouray, Silverton, the million dollar highway and Telluride. Montrose is a great place. We only stayed 3 nights, wish we would have booked for a couple more days.
